$1.00 Casual Day Friday, September 16th

We will be having our first $1.00 casual day this Friday, September 16th. Staff and students can bring in $1.00 or more to dress casually and support our Campus Ministry. Please remind students to follow the casual day dress guidelines that are outlined in the dress code.

School Photo Retakes

Wednesday, October 5th will be picture retakes in the morning in the auditorium. Any student who is having a picture retaken should bring in their original photo envelope to the photographer. If a student was absent on the original picture day in August, they too should have their picture taken. Anyone who is having a picture taken on October 5th may have a dress up day that day (uniform attire or better).

2022-2023 MAP Testing

XMS students are participating in MAP testing starting this week with the math MAP test. Next week is the Language Arts test, and the following week will be the Reading test. Please help your child(ren) do their best by making sure they have a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Home Connect

XMS utilizes the Accelerated Reader (AR) program, which is a national program used to assist in the improvement of students’ reading ability and comprehension. The parent’s role in this program is to encourage reading. Students are required to read AR books at home in addition to class time given. Information will be coming home this week about Home Connect. This is an excellent feature of Accelerated Reader that allows parents to view results from the AR tests at taken school and to monitor your child’s reading progress.

AfterWords Writing Group

Do you enjoy writing? Our school has a club called AfterWords Writing Group. This group does not meet at any time, but it is a group of students who love writing and would like to enter a writing contest. Our first contest is the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest. The Patriot's Pen is sponsored by the Appleton VFW and open to students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The VFW loves to encourage our young people to be aware and involved in thinking about those who served our country in the military. This year's essay contest is based on the theme, "My Pledge to Our Veterans." What can you do to support these brave men and women in our community? Your essay would need to be between 300 to 400 words. If you are interested in entering, please contact Ms. Bouchard, [email protected]. The deadline is October 21st.

Xavier Homecoming Fun Run & Dog Walk

Save the date and join us at the Xavier Homecoming 5K Fun Run & Dog Walk! This fun community- and friend-raising event will take place on Saturday, September 24 at 10:00 AM at Rocky Bleier Field at Xavier High School. All are welcome, even your four-legged friends! This is a non-competitive, fun event with two course choices (1 mile or 5K). Register one person or the whole family! Go to XCSFunRun2022.givesmart.com for more information and to register. This year, following the event, food and music will be available for all to enjoy from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

Christmas Stars ticket sales are open

online and at the box office!

Join us at the Xavier Fine Arts Theatre for Christmas Stars, a spectacular Broadway-style holiday-themed extravaganza featuring singers, dancers & actors ages five through senior citizens.

Each year a cast of volunteer performers dazzles audiences with eye-popping production numbers including a spectacular New York style parade right on stage and a stunning “Living Nativity” finale to bring home the true “reason for the season.” As always, there will be some special surprises.

*An American Sign Language Interpreter will be provided at the 1:00 pm performance on December 3rd.
