Weekly Newsletter

LORD of the Harvest,
BLESS young people with the gift of courage to respond to your call.
Open their hearts to great ideals, to great things.
INSPIRE all of your disciples to mutual love and giving—
for vocations blossom in the
good soil of faithful people.
INSTILL those in religious life, parish
ministries, and families with the confidence
and grace to invite others to embrace
the bold and noble path of a life
consecrated to you.
UNITE us to Jesus through prayer and sacrament,
so that we may cooperate
with you in building your reign of mercy
and truth, of justice and peace. Amen.

November Parent-Teacher Conferences
Xavier Middle School will be hosting parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, November 10th from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM and Thursday, November 11th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All teachers will be located in the gym and be grouped primarily by grade. The guidance and learning services staff will be located in the library. Masks are required during parent-teacher conferences. Please click here for information regarding times for the encore teachers.

If you would prefer an alternative to in-person conferences, please contact your child’s teachers directly prior to conferences to request an alternative conference.

If you have been in regular contact with your child’s teachers and/or following their academic progress in PowerSchool since the beginning of school, then attending conferences at this time may not be necessary. Teachers will continue to keep the lines of communication open throughout the school year.

Report cards will be sent home with the students on Friday. Also accompanying the report card will be your child’s fall MAP testing results and their STAR Reading test results.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is overflowing! Please click here to take a look at the items we have collected so far this year to see if any belong to your family. Your child can pick their things up from the office lobby. Lost and found items will also be on display in the gym lobby during parent-teacher conferences. Next week, all lost and found items will be donated.
All School Field Trip - XHS Fall Musical
Next Monday, Nov 15th, all XMS students and staff will be attending a special presentation of the XHS fall musical, “All Together Now!”. Students will leave school around 12:15 PM to attend the hour-long musical beginning at 1:00 PM and will return to school around 2:45 PM. Students were given a field trip permission form on Monday and should return the field trip permission form by tomorrow (Thursday). Please contact Mr. Bires if you have any questions.
A Friendly Reminder to be Cautious
Parents who use Greenfield Street for morning and afternoon pick-up, please remember to be extra cautious near the intersection of Greenfield Street and Drew Street. We have had some close calls with vehicles and students crossing the two streets. Please look for students crossing the street and please slow down in busy areas with students. Also, please do not block driveways along Greenfield Street when waiting to pick-up or drop-off your child(ren). We have received calls from neighbors who live along Greenfield Street regarding Xavier parents blocking driveways while waiting. Thank you for being extra vigilant during these busy times of the school day.

Parents who use the Northland Parking lot, please remember to be extra cautious in the parking lot given the high volume of vehicles and children in one area. Also, please remember to follow the rules to help keep the flow of traffic moving and to help keep the students safe.

If you have any questions, comments, or other thoughts regarding pick-up or drop-off, please feel free to contact Mr. Bires at any time.
Dress Code Reminders
Students who choose to wear a school approved sweatshirt to school are required to have a school approved polo underneath.

Outerwear clothing needs to be removed prior to going to class. A student’s outerwear should be kept in their locker.
Outside FLEX Time
As long as it's not raining, students will continue to have FLEX time outside. Please be sure your student wears appropriate outdoor clothing to stay warm during their outside flex time. It is recommended that an extra hat and/or gloves be kept in your child(ren)’s locker. This will help make it easier for students to have warm gear when going outside for flex.

Scrip News
Get a jump start on your Holiday shopping! I’m sure you have all heard the news that this year’s Christmas shopping, both online and in stores, is going to be challenging due to supply shipments being delayed and labor shortages. Please plan ahead and get your orders in early. Even though we do stock several retailors, gas stations, local and national restaurants, there are still several that we do not stock and have to special order, which could take 2-3 days to get in. Also, during high demand season, we see large orders for commonly stocked cards. Reminder that you can also order e-gift cards and reloads via the RaiseRight App.

Scrip office will be closed during the following days:
  • November 25th and 26th
  • December 23rd – December 31st
