Weekly Newsletter

11/22/22

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive, from Thy bounty, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

(and wait, while your XMS student resists the urge to add the intercession of St. Francis Xavier to your Thanksgiving meal prayer.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Parents,

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we will thank God for the opportunity to work with your kids. We are very grateful for our Xavier families! Thank you for sending your children to XMS and we appreciate your support and collaboration. We are very blessed to be part of this wonderful community!

Have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving break,

XMS Staff

Hawk Night

The 7th and 8th graders had fun last Friday at their first Hawk Night! There was lots of dancing, basketball and volleyball, and they finished off all of the pizza! Raffle winners enjoyed candy, games, chips, and even a can of Spam. It was a fun time and we look forward to another Hawk Night in the Spring!

Compass Christmas Challenge Contest

Just a reminder that the Compass Christmas artwork or essay is due to Ms. Bouchard.  If you would like to work on it over the long weekend and hand it in on Monday, that will work also. The contest offers both art and essay.  The artwork theme is The Holy Family. The essay topic, not to exceed 60 words, is "Imagine that your family is traveling with the Holy Family to Bethlehem or from Bethlehem to Egypt.  What would your family do and why?  There are different requirements for different grades. Please click here for more information.

Saturday Morning Basketball

Sign-up for Saturday Morning Basketball (S.B.A.) starts now.  S.B.A. has no coaches, no practices, and if you have other things to do on a Saturday morning you don’t have to come.  Everyone plays; no one sits on the bench.  In S.B.A. we just play games and have fun.

Games will be played on Saturday mornings at 9:00 am in the gym.  Only students that do not play on a school team or XYBA are eligible to sign up.  We need a minimum of 10 students to sign up in order to have a program this year.  Please email Mr. Linsmeier (jlinsmeier@xaviercatholicschools.org) with questions, or to sign up.

We will be starting Saturday Morning Basketball on Saturday December 3 at 9:00 am.   Doors will open at 8:30 am. for some warmups before the game. Hope to see you there!

There are opportunities to sing with a childrens’ choir, read and/or play an instrument. We would love as many sweet angelic voices as possible! We will hold at least one rehearsal at 5:30 pm December 14th and one on December 21st, if needed.
