October - Respect Life Month
Dearest St. Joseph,
at the word of an angel,
you lovingly took Mary into your home.
As God’s humble servant, you guided
the Holy Family on the road to Bethlehem,
welcomed Jesus as your own son
in the shelter of a manger,
and fled far from your homeland
for the safety of both Mother and Child.

We praise God that as their faithful protector,
you never hesitated to sacrifice
for those entrusted to you.
May your example inspire us also
to welcome, cherish, and safeguard
God’s most precious gift of life.

Help us to faithfully commit ourselves
to the service and defense of human life
—especially where it is
vulnerable or threatened.
Obtain for us the grace
to do the will of God in all things.
Amen.

Weekly Mass
Mass is generally celebrated 9:30am on Tuesdays at Xavier Middle School. We invite parents, grandparents, relatives and friends of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Schools to join us via livestream. Go to the XMS Campus Ministry webpage for the link to join us: Campus Ministry - XMS.
Casual Day for a Cause
This Friday we will collect donations for Salma, a young woman living in Tanzania. The money will support her education and living expenses. XMS has supported Salma for many years and we are excited to be in touch via email letters this year. Please consider a donation of at $1.00 to dress casually on Friday, October 15th.
In Need
Parents, we are in need of an old outdoor portable basketball hoop. The conditions of the rim and background are not important. We plan to only use the base and the pole for a volleyball net outside. We currently have one portable basketball hoop and are looking for one more. If you or someone you know is interested in getting rid of an old portable basketball hoop, please contact Mr. Bires. We would be happy to come and haul it away for you.

Scrip News
You may be familiar with the Scrip program through which both XCS and your family can earn rebates by purchasing gift cards.  But are you familiar with all the different ways you can purchase and use these Scrip cards?   Many people choose not to utilize the program because they find it too inconvenient to pick up cards at the Scrip office or to have to carry around multiple cards.   Did you know you can take full advantage of the program without doing either of those things?!  Click here for some tips to maximize your rebates while minimizing your inconvenience.

Fleet Farm Scrip - In anticipation for Toyland Opening, the percentage you earn with Fleet Farm scrip will be increased to 8%.  This additional percentage will run thru the end of October.  The normal 5% will go back into effect 11/1.
