XWA named North Dakota Airport of the Year
Williston Heral d - Two airports in Williams County have earned statewide recognition. Williston Basin International Airport was named the 2019 Commercial Service Airport of the Year, and the Tioga Municipal Airport was named the 2019 General Aviation Airport of the Year. Both awards are sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota. Read More
Williston Housing Study calls for Big Build-out; 443 Homes a Year
KUMV-TV - Williston’s housing situation is unique. That’s according to The National Consultant NewMark Knight Frank, which completed a housing action plan for the City. It projects that for the next decade Williston needs 443 new houses a year to keep up with demand. Read More
Hops & Berry Taproom opens in Williston
KUMV-TV - Hops and Berry Taproom opened over the weekend offering several craft beer and wine options, all with the help of sophisticated software. Only the second of its kind in North Dakota, the taproom houses a whopping 54 tablet-operated taps. Read More
Stonehome's Scottish Ale wins Award
McKenzie County Farmer - Stonehome Brewing Company in Watford City was recently springboarded to national recognition after head brewer, Rick Diaz, took home the gold on Feb. 18, after one of his crafted brews won ‘Best of the Midwest’ at the United States Beer Tasting Championship (USBTC). Parshall builds New Day Care Center
Mountrail County Record - Parshall has added new businesses and housing in the last couple of years, but more changes are on the way, says Lucky Mound Segment Representative Mervin Packineau. Packineau said the Segment is pursuing several projects that will keep Parshall on a path of growth in the coming years. The first new facility will be a daycare that will open this summer. “We outgrew our old one and needed a bigger one,” Packineau said. Read More

Bismarck Trib une - I t’s no secret that western North Dakota communities have grown significantly amid the shale oil boom, but the population increase is not reflected. North Dakota officials estimate that each uncounted person accounts for a loss of $19,000 in federal funds over the course of the following decade. Read More
New Residential Treatment Facility for Youth opens in Williston
Williston Herald - “Today we stand in this building because of the seeds that were planted by Fred and Clara Eckert some 45 years ago.” John Harper, facility administrator for the Eckert Youth Home, addressed a large crowd on March 2, during the open house for the Eckert Foundation’s new residential treatment facility for youth dealing with addiction. Teen Job Fair April 22 in Williston
KUMV-TV -  The second annual Teen Job Fair is fast approaching. Job Service will once again collaborate with Williston High School, the City of Williston, and North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education to help students find employment, on Wednesday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Jon Cole Gymnasium. Williston Economic Development has announced it will celebrate Economic Development Week May 4-8! The 2020 Spring Job Fair will be held at the Raymond Family Community Center.

04/01 ------ 1 Million Cups
Support local entrepreneurs by attending the one-hour meeting at 8:30 a.m. at the Williston Community Library. The presentations will feature Cooks on Main and US Census. Complimentary coffee will be provided by Cooks on Main. 

04/23 ------ Art & Wine Walk
The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. in Downtown Williston. Sponsored by the Williston Downtowners Association.

05/04-08 ------ Economic Development Week
Join us as we celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs. The community is invited to an open house on May 4 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 113 4th Street East.

05/07 ------ State of the City Address
The public is invited to the meeting and free luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Grand Williston Hotel.

05/17-23 ------ National Public Works Week
Williston Public Works will host a community outreach day on May 20 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the new Public Works Facility. Equipment will be on display and staff will be on hand to discuss the services public works provides.

06/19 ------ Chamber of Commerce's Rockin' Ribfest

Youth will set up lemonade stands across Williston.
