TONIGHT: Xavier State Volleyball Tournament Information
Congratulations to Coach Filer and the Xavier Volleyball Team for earning a spot in this year’s Class 4A State Volleyball Tournament. State tournament games will be played at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse. Our first match is Tonight at 6:00 p.m. against Marion. The winner of this match will play in the semi-finals on Wednesday, November 3rd at Noon. The championship game for the 4A schools will be Thursday, November 4th at 12:15 p.m.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following plans and guidelines:

MONDAY
The match starts at 6:00pm. Xavier will dismiss at the normal school time of 2:45 p.m.

WEDNESDAY 
IF WE ARE PLAYING IN THE SEMI-FINAL MATCH AT NOON:

Wednesday will be a Spirit Day.

School Attendance
Classes will remain in session for those not attending the game. Those who would like to attend and support the team, are encouraged to do so. Dismissal for those attending the game is 10:40. These students are expected to attend their first and second block classes. Parents dismissing their student can contact the office by using the planned absence online form, via phone, email. Please submit the online form by Tuesday 3:00 pm. An email will be sent confirming the form submission.

THURSDAY
IF WE ARE PLAYING IN THE FINAL MATCH AT 12:15 PM:

Thursday will be a Spirit Day.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tickets
Tickets may be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000. Tickets may also be purchased at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse box office. This is the same for the entirety of the tournament. Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, October 22nd at 10:00am.


All tickets are $10 per person for an all-day ticket. Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will include an additional $2 handling charge. Children not yet in Kindergarten do not need to purchase a ticket. Hard paper tickets will NOT be available at the school for the state tournament.

Seating
For the first round and semi-final round of play, the seats behind each end of the court are designated for student sections. We ask all adults to leave those areas open for students.

Representing Xavier
The Xavier community has worked hard to build a rich tradition of sportsmanship and school pride. We fully expect that our fans will continue to exhibit those qualities.

Playoff Football: Xavier vs. Webster City | Friday, Nov. 5 (Online Ticketing Only)
Xavier Football will host Webster City in the quarterfinal round of the IHSAA playoffs on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Saints Field. 

Tickets to all postseason football games will be sold exclusively online on the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s website at IAHSAA.org/Tickets.

The price is $8 for everyone Kindergarten and older. Due to this being a postseason contest, no passes are accepted.  


This game will be livestreamed via the NFHS Network (subscription required).

Reminder: Self Defense Class for XHS Girls
Xavier Health Club is sponsoring a Self Defense Class for all Xavier girls Monday November 8 from 6-9pm at Xavier. Cost is $5 through 8to18. Junior and Seniors will have first opportunity to sign up now through 10/29 at which time it will be opened up to Freshmen and Sophomore girls. Max class size is 40. Contact Mrs. Naeve with any questions.
Reminder: Faith Opportunities
Nov 1 registration opens for BCYC Encounter. This is a great conference June 17-19 on the Bennidictine College campus. We have had students attend in the past with rave reviews

Steubenville Youth Conference has multiple locations and dates throughout the summer. The registration dates vary beginning in November. These retreats fill very quickly.. This conference has had several students attend and they ALL have had a great experience.

Nov 4 - Chasing the Dream: What is your ultimate goal? Speaking event at U of I Newman Center. Father Chase Hilgenbrinck presents at 7pm. 
Reminder: Veterans Day Prayers and Outreach
Veterans Day is Thursday, November 11. We are so very grateful for the service of all military members and Veterans in our community and would like to keep them in our prayers and outreach.
