New: Girls Basketball Advances to State Championship Game

Congratulations to Coach Lilly and the Xavier Girls’ Basketball Team for their 55-50 victory over Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday and advancing to the state championship game in this year’s Class 4A Girls State Basketball Tournament! The game will be tomorrow, Saturday, March 5th at 2:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Tickets
All tickets are general admission and entitle the holder to sit anywhere in the 100 level (8,000 seats) or 300 level (6,000 seats). General Admission tickets are $10 each. Wells Fargo Arena does not accept checks. Advance tickets are available for purchase either at the Wells Fargo Arena Box Office, by telephone at 866-553- 2457, or through the Wells Fargo Arena website (www.iowaeventscenter.com).
All spectators kindergarten and older must purchase a ticket. Children not yet in school will NOT require a ticket. Cost is $10 per session. Doors will open 60 minutes prior to tip-off of the first game of each session. Fans will be allowed to leave and re-enter during the same session, but they must get stamped prior to leaving the building. Stamp tables will be located at the north and south ends of the concourse.

The Xavier community has worked hard to build a rich tradition of sportsmanship and school pride. We fully expect that our fans will continue to exhibit those qualities.
As a reminder: signs, banners, Fat Heads, hoops, balloons etc. are not allowed. The use of artificial noisemakers (cowbells, thunder sticks, etc...) is prohibited.

Last Day to Submit: Grandparent Names Needed for Grandparent Mass Invitations

Xavier will be holding our Annual Grandparents Mass on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. All grandparents are invited to attend the 9:50 am Mass in-person. A livestream of the Mass will also be available at XavierSaints.org/Grandparents.
If you would like your student’s grandparents to be invited, please click here and add their name(s) and address(es) by Friday, March 4. Even if your students’ grandparents have attended or received invitations in previous years, you will need to add them to this year’s list in order for them to be invited.
The deadline to submit grandparent information is this TODAY (3/4/22)
Invitations will be mailed to grandparents in early March!

Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Wednesday, March 9th from 6-8 p.m. These will be walk-in conferences, no appointment needed. |

ACTION ITEM: Nominate a Teacher & Staff Member for 2022 XITA/XISA Awards
|
|
Each year Xavier Parents for Xcellence (XPX) presents three awards to Xavier faculty and staff members. The “Xcellence in Teacher Award (XITA)” is presented each year to two outstanding teachers who have made a significant impact on students by challenging them with high expectations and assisting them in meeting those expectations. The “Xcellence in Service Award (XISA)” is presented to one outstanding staff member. These teachers and staff members demonstrate a commitment to students, to Xavier High School and to Catholic Education. They are professional in their behavior and serve as role models in our school community. Recipients of these awards are decided based on nominations that come in from students, faculty, staff, and parents in the Xavier community. These awards include a monetary gift.
Please fill out this brief two question form by March 10th to nominate an outstanding teacher and staff member for this year’s awards.

New: Kirkwood Academy Registration Deadline Approaching
|
|
March 11th is the deadline for current sophomores and juniors to sign up to take dual credit courses through Kirkwood Community College for the 22-23 school year. Information on these courses, including the program of studies, was sent out to parents and students last week.
|
|
The 4th quarter tuition payment is due March 10th. All tuition plans should be paid by this date unless you are signed up for EFT monthly payments. Any outstanding tuition/fees need to be paid by graduation practice if you have a senior. All other tuition amounts/fees need to be paid by the last day of class.

- The deadline is April 15, 2022
- You will need your 2021 tax return to complete the application
Remember, the completion of this application is required in order to be eligible to receive tuition assistance (from STO OR from local tuition assistance).
