Reminder: Attendance as the Year Winds Down
As we get close to the end of the year, and particularly as we get close to finals for seniors, we ask for your help in doing all that you can to ensure that your students make every effort to attend classes throughout the remainder of the semester. While it may be difficult to decline a request from your student, particularly a senior student, to "call in" for them, we ask that you help us maintain a sense of academic purpose.

Despite what your student may tell you, there is no school approved "skip day" at any time during the year. We count on your partnership with us and on your integrity when faced with those requests from your students.

Thanks for all you do to help us ensure that your students stay focused on their studies!
Reminder: Concession Help Needed - Please Consider Signing Up
The craziness of spring activities is upon us. In the next 6 weeks, Xavier hosts 19 home games/meets that need volunteers to help staff the concession stand.

Grab your bestie, spouse or even your high school son or daughter and spend a few hours supporting Xavier High School. Various activities are assigned to work certain events but all volunteers can sign up to work regardless if their son/daughter is a part of that activity.

Many hands make light work.

Reminder: Senior Scholarship Information Due THIS FRIDAY!
In order to accurately and completely recognize all deserving students who have been awarded college and university scholarships, we need to collect information about those awards. Your student may also earn awards from organizations outside of Xavier.

We are asking that you submit to us a copy of the letter or certificate documenting any college or university scholarship earned by your student. If your student has been offered scholarships by more than one institution, you should include all of them in your reporting.

This documentation should be submitted to Student Services Secretary, Mrs. Anne Wallraff, no later than Friday, April 22 at 3:00 p.m.  Thank you!
Reminder: Attention Junior & Senior Parents - Post Prom Donations Still Needed!
Just a reminder that prom is getting closer (April 30) and we are still looking for donations to make this post prom a fun, safe and memorable one.

If you would like to make an individual donation, or if you know of a business that would like to donate, please do so by:

  • making the donation through the 8to18 app
  • mailing or dropping off any monetary donations to Xavier (marked Attn: Post Prom).
  • contacting Jamie Allen at 319-573-2876
Reminder: Free Meals for All Students Ends with the 2022 School Year
When the 2021-2022 school year ends, so do free meals for every student. While the federal government funded a program that allowed all students access to free meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress recently declined to continue funding this program. This means all families will need to carry a positive balance in their children’s school meal accounts when school begins next fall.

We understand this change may cause you to worry. There are important steps you can take today to make sure your student receives the meals they need next year.

  • Complete An Application for Free and Reduced Meals NOW. If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, they can still receive them next year, but you must take action to make it happen.

  1. Complete the 2021-2022 application for free and reduced meals before the end of this school year if you have not already filled out an application for the 2021-2022 school year. This will give you a 30-day grace period at the start of the 2022-2023 school year to complete another application for next year.
  2. Then, fill out the 2022-2023 online application which will be available on the Xavier website after July 1, 2022. Even if you complete the 2021-2022 application, you will still need to complete the 2022-2023 application as well.

  • Budget for the Cost of School Lunches (if you do not qualify for free and reduced meals). Families that do not qualify for free or reduced meals can start depositing money into their student’s account to prepare for the cost of school lunches next year. Information on meal prices for the 2022-2023 school year will be available in the near future.
  • Pay Off Negative School Lunch Balances. If your student has a negative lunch account balance, we encourage you to pay that as soon as possible and then begin depositing money into your student’s account to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year.

To apply for free or reduced meals, please go to the Xavier website to find an application. For assistance completing the application or for questions, please contact Lorraine Gaffney; Food Service Director at lorraine.gaffney@xaviersaints.org or call 319-294-6635 x339.
