Dear Xavier Parents,
At Xavier High School, we are fortunate to have a community that is second to none – this sense of community is a defining element of what makes our school special. Parents play a critical role in creating and sustaining this community, and we are writing to ask for your help in continuing this tradition.
Research shows that students who are involved in extracurricular activities are more likely to succeed academically and socially. At Xavier, we are proud that nearly 98 percent of our students are involved in at least one activity. However, this level of involvement also means that our parents have more demands on their time than ever before – especially when accounting for activities outside of Xavier with siblings, clubs, etc.
Despite these challenges, we believe that parent involvement is more important than ever. Whether it's volunteering to help with show choir costumes or working at the concession stand, every little bit helps. By getting involved, you become part of a community that is focused on supporting the growth and development of our students.
Unfortunately, we have noticed a decline in parent volunteerism in recent years. We understand that everyone has busy lives, but we believe that the benefits of volunteering far outweigh the costs. By giving just a few hours of your time each year, you can make a real difference in the lives of our students and help sustain the strong sense of community that makes Xavier such a unique place.
So we ask you, please consider volunteering at least once a year. Whether it's for a few hours at the concession stand or helping to prepare football meals, your contribution is invaluable. Not only will you be supporting our school, but you will also have the opportunity to meet other parents, interact with our students, and make our school community even stronger.
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to seeing you at Xavier soon!
Sincerely,
Matt Svare, Activities Director
