UPDATED: Clarification on Fall Musical Dance Clinics/Auditions for Girls
It is the intention of Drama Director, Mr. Cervantes, to meet any females interested in auditioning for the show this fall, including any incoming freshmen. This is an informal learning session to meet the director and give you an idea of what will be involved. No auditioning will take place, and no parts will be offered.  Formal auditions will be held shortly after school starts. If you are unable to attend the Dance Clinic you will not be penalized during formal auditions in the fall. The date for formal auditions will be decided soon, as well as any material to prepare. Look for that information in the Xavier Update sometime in the few weeks prior to the start of school.

If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to Drama Director, Mr. Cervantes at mike.cervantes@xaviersaints.org or Music Director, Mr. Schroetter at mr.schroetter@xaviersaints.org.
Reminder: Baseball Substate Final
The Xavier Baseball team takes on Independence, Wednesday, July 13th at 7:00 PM at Xavier in the 3A substate final. Tickets can be purchased for $8 online at the IHSAA Website. The QR you receive after purchasing a ticket will be scanned at the gate for entry to the game. A large crowd is expected, therefore an additional area will be available for lawn chairs.
Reminder: Homecoming Dates 2022
Xavier's Fall Homecoming Week is August 29-September 3. We understand this is earlier than years past and as such want to communicate information and dates with families now. Xavier homecoming dates are selected based on several factors including: a home football game and conflicts with other co-curricular activities. After careful consideration, the only available date this fall will be during the second week of school.

  • Wednesday August 31 - Homecoming Mass
  • Thursday September 1 - Pep Rally and Bonfire
  • Friday September 2 - Alumni Hall of Fame Induction at halftime of the football game
  • Saturday September 3 - Homecoming Dance (lock-in)

Xavier Community System student leaders have begun preparation for events and dress days throughout the week. This information will be shared with students in August prior to school start.

Reminder: Consider Hosting an International Student
Xavier partners with Youth for Understanding to place qualified and dynamic international students at Xavier. YFU has partners in many countries around the world. They have both in-bound and out-bound programs. YFU students are between the ages of 15 and 18 and have medical insurance and spending money. They speak English well enough to live with a family and be successful in an American high school. YFU families provide the love and guidance that you would provide to your own child, three meals a day (this includes a sack lunch for school or money in a lunch account), a separate bed and a study area, and a means of transportation to and from school.
If you are interested in hosting for the 2022/2023 school year, apply on-line at YFUUSA.org or text/call YFU Local Coordinator Sandy Scaia, with questions. Sandy lives in Cedar Rapids and can be reached at 319-431-5447.
Reminder: XPX Uniform Collection
XPX will once again be collecting “graduated” and out-grown GENTLY WORN uniforms. These items will be available in August for purchase at the annual Back-to-School Sale! All proceeds from this sale will directly benefit the XPX programs, which support the students, staff and teachers at Xavier. Please clean out those closets and bring ANY UNIFORM APPROVED items (polos, sweaters, quarter-zips, pants) to the main office. Gentle used spirit wear will be accepted too. All items must be without stains or tears. Thank you for your support!
