We Are Back!
Today our hearts were filled with joy as our Saints return to the building for the 2022-2023 school year! Today, we opened our year by celebrating Mass. We thank Fr. Aaron Junge (X08) for celebrating Mass with us! Additionally, we thank Dick Lensing and Tom Takes who created brand new, beautiful crucifixes for every classroom here at Xavier. These crucifixes mirror the larger one installed in our chapel last year. Fr. Junge blessed each crucifix prior to Mass and teachers came forward to take them back to their classroom where they will be placed.
New: Entering the Building During the School Day
If you’ve been to Xavier recently, you are aware of our front office construction as part of safety and security upgrades we are making to our school. All doors to the school will remain locked during school hours. Visitors and students arriving after the day has begun must ring the doorbell at the south-facing doors of the main entrance – there is no longer a doorbell at the east-facing doors. Visitors will be buzzed in and must check in through the new Main Office door (immediately to the left after passing through the first set of doors).
New: Volleyball Tonight (8/23) - Xavier vs. CR Jefferson - Senior Night!
The girls' varsity volleyball team will host Cedar Rapids Jefferson at 7:00 PM tonight! The sophomore and JV games start at 5:30 PM. Senior Night festivities begin at 6:30 PM. Tickets for tonight’s game will cost:

  • $5 for senior citizens and non-Xavier students K-12
  • $6 for adults
  • Free for Xavier students who have their student ID’s

Reminder: Upcoming Parent Meetings
  • Sophomore Parent Meeting is Wednesday, August 24 at 7:00pm.

  • Junior/Senior Parent Meeting is Monday, August 29 at 7:00pm.
Reminder: Picture Day
School pictures will be taken on Friday, Aug. 26. This will be a regular dress code day.

Reminder: XPX Eucharistic Adoration Volunteers Needed
XPX will support Eucharistic Adoration with parent volunteers in the Xavier Chapel this school year for our students & community on Fridays starting Sept. 9th. Adoration takes place every Friday school is in-session beginning at 7:30am, following the 7:00am Mass, and concluding at 2:45pm. Two parent volunteers per hour are needed. In addition to a one-hour weekly commitment, shared spots (every other week) are available. For more information please contact Linda Mitchell at lindaashleyrd@gmail.com or 319-743-8190.
