Action Item: Attention Needed to Receive Future Alerts & Weather Related Announcements
Yesterday afternoon we sent test text messages through our alert system. Due to some security changes in the program that we use to send these alerts, this year every phone number in PowerSchool that wishes to receive these alerts MUST be marked “Yes” for SMS.

If you received the test messages yesterday, you do not need to do anything. If you filled out the Google form or emailed Meg Hansen directly, your changes have been made for you and you do not need to do anything.

To make changes in PowerSchool:

  1. Log into PowerSchool at xcs.powerschool.com/public
  2. Click on “Update Contacts” in the left column
  3. Select the contact that you wish to update
  4. Under Phones you will see a column titled SMS, select “Yes”
  5. Click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom right

If you run into troubles and prefer to have the changes made for you, please fill out this form before Friday, September 30 at 10:00 am

Please email meg.hansen@xaviersaints.org if you have any questions.
Action Item: Community Service Day Registration
Xavier High School’s annual Community Service Day is November 9, 2022. This is a wonderful day of service for our Saints out in the community. All students must be registered by their parents in order to participate.

Parents need to complete their student(s) registration for Community Service Day by Monday, October 3

Please also consider joining us as a parent driver for the day! This day is not possible without the volunteers who are willing to drive our students. It is a great day of service and fun! *We are in need of extra drivers this year due to buses being unavailable.

For families with siblings, please complete this form for EACH STUDENT.
New: Thank You from Campus Ministry!
Campus Ministry would like to extend a huge thank you to the many ways our community supported the XCEED conference.  Donutland started the day with donuts and Panera provided cookies for after lunch.  Our body and soul was well cared for on Monday.
Reminder: Dr. Ray Guarendi Speaking at Xavier
Dr. Ray Guarendi will be speaking in the Xavier theater this Sunday, October 2 at 6:30pm. His topic is Parenting: Then and Now. Be sure to join! Dr. Ray can be heard on Catholic Radio and EWTN. He is a clinical psychologist and an authority on parenting and behavioral issues. Details found HERE.
Reminder: Transportation Reimbursement
First semester non-public transportation reimbursement forms for the area school districts are due December 1st. Click the district in which you live to find the form you need to submit. Remember Cedar Rapids school district forms need to be turned into the Xavier main office. Contact Christine or Karen at info@xaviersaints.org if you have any questions.

Reminder: Key Club
Key Club is an international organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership by serving children and our communities. Senior members set a goal of 10 service hours and freshmen, sophomores, and juniors set a goal for 8 service hours through our events.

A parent or guardian may sign up each student for Key Club by paying the $15 dues here: https://xavierhs.8to18.com/accounts/login. The deadline to sign up for Key Club is September 30th.
