Each week we comb through Xi Jinping's recent speeches to highlight a useful chengyu that he used. These not only help you learn new chengyus, but also make you aware of what Xi Jinping has been speaking about--a critical part of understanding Chinese policy.

We can't find an instance of Xi using this one in any of his speeches, but we are highlighting it this week in the hopes that you will heed its meaning and support the American Mandarin Society. We are a 501c3 nonprofit and depend on your support to create our newsletter and podcast, organize our Chinese-language events, run both our Fellows Program and Next-Generation Scholars Program, publish our China Syllabi Project, and maintain our website.

Never has it been more important for the United States to foster capable, China-savvy experts across business, government, academia, think tanks, and civil society.  Investing in the future stewards of U.S.-China relations is a strategic imperative. The American Mandarin Society's commitment to supporting these Americans is rooted in the conviction that prosperity, stability, and peace in the entire Asia-Pacific region depend on it.

Support the American Mandarin Society!

If you appreciate the effort we put into organizing Chinese-language policy events, providing robust language and policy resources on our website, and the kind of content you see in this newsletter, please consider supporting us with a tax-deductible contribution--every bit helps!
The American Mandarin Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
