Hello, Y's Men!

Exciting Event Tomorrow: The Future of News

The Y's Men event at The Westport Library tomorrow is generating significant excitement. While all 400 tickets are gone, we encourage members without tickets to arrive at 1:30 pm, as there's a good chance of admission due to potential no-shows. The event begins at 2:00 pm featuring three network news veterans and Senator Richard Blumenthal. It’s about the future of news in the wake of the last election.

Y's Men Spotlight: Terry Pritikin -

A Serendipitous Recruitment of a Recruiter

Terry Pritiken

What sounds like the start of a classic bar joke turned into a genuine Y's Men membership story. Baxter Urist, Mike Boyle, and Larry Lich were returning from a Y's Men walk when they stopped at Dunville’s (aka Little Pub). After making some noise, they apologized to a fellow patron - who turned out to be Terry Pritikin. Their conversation led to an invitation to join the Y's Men.

Y’s Man Paul Rohan talked with Terry recently to create this Member Profile:

Terry Pritikin brings a rich professional background to our organization. A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a Psychology degree, he boasts a 40-year career in Specialty Retail, holding senior executive positions with national chains like L Brands and Sunglass Hut.

He owns The Pritikin Group, LLC, a recruiting and consulting firm. He’s also been a member of the Executive Forum for 15 years.

Personal Interests

Terry is an avid musician who plays guitar and drums and enjoys singing. He's also a passionate reader with deep community connections - he and his wife Eileen have three grandchildren attending Westport schools.

Y's Men Involvement

Terry has expressed enthusiasm for multiple committees and clubs, including:

Program Committee

Hoot Owls Glee Club

Community Service

Membership

Social

Finance Committees

He's also interested in:

Fiction and Non-fiction Book Clubs

Jazz Club

Classical Music Society

Walking Club

Welcome to the Y's Men, Terry!

Correction regarding last week’s newsletter: it should have read, "New member Ken Moy was referred by Paul Muller" (not Miller).

One more thing:

As a member, having your photo in the Y’s Men Directory is essential. See me (Allan Siegert) at Thursday’s regular meeting (9:00 am, Saugatuck Congregational Church), and I’ll introduce you to one of the Camera Club members who will take your photo and make you look your best. They will also take care of uploading your image into the Directory.

We thank these Y’s Men who have referred new members during this fiscal year!
