Allan Siegert has been appointed the new Membership Chairman. He takes over from Ron Holtz who has transitioned to Speaker Committee Chair.

Ron’s energetic and innovative approach to membership, emphasizing every Y's Man's responsibility to refer new members and instituting a policy to orient each applicant, has set a high bar for the role.

Why it matters: New members are crucial for budget goals

Y’s Men Treasurer, Francois Auzerais, has set a target of 50 new members this year to meet budget requirements. This target accounts for natural attrition due to relocations, health issues, and changing interests among our older demographic.

What's new: Streamlined membership process

President Bruce Borner has implemented a new website feature that simplifies the application process for prospective members and reduces administrative work in onboarding new members.

Here’s the new link to give to prospective members:

Remember, new members must have lived or live now in Westport or Weston.

Looking ahead: Increasing member engagement

Allan has formed a new committee to explore ways to boost the involvement of new members beyond orientation. The committee, meeting monthly, includes:

  • Baxter Urist
  • Dick Kalt
  • Bill Blaufuss
  • Nabil Atweh
  • Steve Kunkes
  • Jeff Hare
  • Art Mann

The bottom line: Your referrals are essential to keep Y's Men on track with our budget goals and to maintain the vitality of our organization.
