NEW Y’s MEN
This has been another successful Membership Week with two new members.
Congratulations to Bruce Becker, FAIA, LEED AP who yesterday (May 10, 2024) was appointed by President Biden to be a Member of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts.
Stan Satty was referred by Mitch Fitter, who is a new member who joined last week. Thank you to Mitch for the referral to Y’s Men.
Please take a moment and either call or email Bruce Becker and Stan Satty and welcome them to our great organization!

For new Members or any Member who does not have the Username and Password for the Y’s Men website, please stop by the Membership Table at the Thursday morning meeting or call Ron Holtz at 203-993-4970.
Y’s MEN MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
This has been a highly successful and exciting Y’s Men Membership Year. We have now inducted more than 130 new Y’s Men Members since June 1, 2023. A special “Thank You” to those who have served as Membership Ambassadors this year as well as to our Technology and Finance Teams for efficiently processing the new applications.
I will be completing my Term as Membership Committee Chairman on May 30, 2024.
I welcome any suggestions from our Members on any Membership related issues or ideas that you may have. Thank you for all the support this year, and we look forward to continued Membership recruiting, engagement, and retention success in the future.
It has been my honor and privilege to Chair the Membership Committee, and I look forward to the future as I assume new responsibilities in the Y’s Men of Westport/ Weston organization. Thank you also to President Dewey Loselle and the Board for their continuing support of the Membership Committee.
VOLUNTEERS
For new members and legacy members - we are seeking volunteers to assist in our many activities and committees. If you are a newer member, this is a great way to meet other members and become more involved and engaged in Y’s Men.
For more information on Volunteer opportunities, please contact our A.D. (Activities Director) and Immediate Past President, Baxter Urist at burist@optonline.net
NEW MEMBER LUNCHEON
For all new Y’s Men Members who joined between November 1, 2023 to the present, you are cordially invited to join your fellow members on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm. The luncheon will be held at Gabriele’s of Westport, 27 Powers Court (adjacent to the Westport Country Playhouse).
Following the luncheon, you may join us for a “Backstage Tour” of the Westport Country Playhouse from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Any legacy members not coming to the luncheon are invited to join the “Backstage Tour” of the Playhouse at 1:30 pm on May 30th.
- Invitations will be re-sent to those who have not responded and RSVPs are required as to whether or not you will be attending. We need an exact count for Gabriele’s. If you have not RSVP’d by this coming week, you will not have a reservation. There is no charge for this group.
PAINTING CLASSES
We are considering either a T&E Event for a Painting Class (acrylic) or an ongoing Y’s Men Activity on a monthly basis for Painting classes at MoCA in Westport. They would be providing the space, instructor(s) as well as all the materials (canvas, paint, brushes, etc.). There will be a minimal charge of between $20.00 and $25.00 per session. If you are interested, with no obligation at this time, please send an email to ronholtz.ysmen@gmail.com. MoCA is very interested in working with Y’s Men.
REDLINE RESTORATIONS
Save the Date - Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 am for a Tour of the world renowned, award winning auto restoration facility located in Bridgeport, CT. This is a T&E Event featuring a comprehensive tour followed by a Y’s Men Lunch. A T&E email for registration will be sent in June. Maximum of 50 attendees.
CONSUMER REPORTS TOUR
Many of our Members have successfully completed the registration for the Consumer Reports Lab Tour and Wine Tasting at the National Headquarters in Yonkers, NY on June 5, 2024. CEO & President Marta Tellado will greet us with welcoming remarks. This is a T&E exclusive event that will not be repeated. We are close to capacity, and if we have no more reservations by Wednesday, May 15, we will open this up to spouses and guests who are currently excluded from this Members Only amazing opportunity. There is a minimum $50.00 donation to Consumer Reports that is a not-for-profit organization, under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Another T&E email will be sent on Monday, May 13 if you missed the first email. Consumer Reports normally does not have public tours, but we have worked on this for over two years for the benefit of Y’s Men. Please respond to the second email as this will be filled to capacity soon!
