Alert: Women's Basketball Viewing Sunday (Here's Hoping)
A potential "pop up" social event is in the offing this Sunday. April 6. It's a Y's Men viewing party of the UConn vs. (?) women's basketball championship game at 2:00 pm (Tipoff 3:00 pm) at the Horseshoe Bar & Grill in Southport.
Organizers are optimistic that UConn will prevail in its Final Four Game on Friday and advance to the Championship Game. There was a great Y’s Men crowd and a great time at the Horseshoe last year cheering on the USA Women’s Olympic Soccer team. This will be even better! Spouses invited, of course (if they can stand it).
Questions: Contact Dewey Loselle deweyloselle@gmail.com.

GIDG Meets Next Monday at 9:00 am
The Global Issues Discussion Group (GIDG) will meet Monday (April 7) in Room 203/204 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 9:00 am.
New developments on the international scene will be discussed. Certainly, the imposition of tariffs enacted today (April 2) will provide fuel for many hot talk topics. As GIDG Moderator Frank Wood has advised the Group: "Keep your eyes on the news"
because it will be the source of many a GIDG discussion.
For more information on GIDG, contact Frank at fwood227@gmail.com.

Y’s Men Volunteers Needed For Compo Beach Playground Re-Build
We are exactly three weeks from starting reconstruction of our crown jewel at the beach - the Playground. The Playground Committee has done a great job preparing for a fun, community event to improve this great play space for the next generation. We know that many Y’s Men participated in the 1989 and 2006 building projects, so it’s time to “strap on” those tool belts and volunteer one more time on behalf of your grandchildren and all the other kids in our community. And even if you can’t be there for the building project, please consider lending some tools to the Playground Committee.
Build Week is Monday, April 21 through Saturday April 26. The Playground Committee has raised all the money necessary, the demolition is complete, and the excess sand has been removed, but we still need volunteers to work and folks to loan us tools during the build.
Build Week Volunteers: Three shifts daily, with meals/snacks served. You are welcome to work any/every day. Since both parents of most young kids work, we need help from those of us who are around town during the day. Any level of skill is welcome; most jobs do not require construction knowledge.
To Volunteer: Go to: https://www.compobeachplayground.com/
If you have tools to lend (or donate) for the week, here is a Google docs link with the opportunity to list what you can share:
