Tomorrow: Alzheimer's Association Executive Will Discuss

Latest Advances in Fighting The Disease

Did you know that nearly seven million Americans are living with Alzheimer's Disease? Tomorrow, Karen Cusato of the Alzheimer's Association, will educate Y's Men about the the latest advances in fighting the disease as well as its burden on individuals, caregivers, and the nation's health care system.


She will explain the disease, its early signs, how it is diagnosed, its relationship with dementia, and its various stages. Kristen is director of communications for the organization's Connecticut chapter based in Southington.


Y's Men Thursday morning meetings are in Hoskins Hall downstairs in the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East in Westport. As always, donut and bagel social hour 9:00 to 10:00 am, short business meeting at 10:00, and speaker starts at 10:30 finishing no later than 11:30. Come early and meet your fellow members. Guests are always welcome.

GIDG Meets Monday at 9:00 am


The Global Issues Discussion Group (GIDG) will meet Monday, February 24 in Room 203/204 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 9:00 am.


The Group will discuss the current tariff situation with Canada, Mexico and China but undoubtedly will want to talk about the latest developments in ongoing meetings to seek an end to the Russian - Ukrainian war.


As GIDG Moderator Frank Wood has advised the Group: "Keep your eyes on the news."

Y's Men Mindfulness Group Meets Mondays by Zoom


The Y's Men Mindfulness Group meets every Monday at 7:30 pm by Zoom. If you would like to attend or obtain information about the Group, contact Harvey Luft at harveyluft@gmail.com or Paul Epstein at epsteinmb@aol.com.


Harvey and Paul also can provide access to reviewing and reading material from previous meetings and discussions.

Staples Chamber Orchestra to Perform for Y's Men March 4

The Staples Stradivarius Chamber Orchestra will perform for Y's Men March 4.


One of Staples High School’s elite musical ensembles will perform a free concert on Tuesday, March 4 in the Saugatuck Congregational Church Sanctuary, beginning at 2:45 pm. The concert serves as the March meeting of the Y’s Men Classical Music Society.


The Stradivarius Chamber Orchestra is an advanced, by-audition ensemble open to all Staples High School string players currently enrolled in the high school’s orchestra programs. Candidates must audition each spring for the following school year’s ensemble, whether they were part of the previous year’s ensemble or not.
