Peter Boyd to Speak About Importance of a "Net-Zero" World

Peter Boyd

Peter Boyd, a Lecturer at the Yale School of the Environment and Resident Fellow at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment, will be joining us this Thursday. He is Founder and CEO of Time4Good, and is passionate about system change to a "Net-Zero" world. From writing and speaking, to directly helping organizations that are accelerating the transition, Peter will speak to us about Time4Good and its role in achieving the goal of a "Net-Zero" world.

Peter is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland; graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics; and now lives in Westport where he serves as Chair of Sustainable Westport and warden of his local church. He is currently enjoying family life with his wife and three children under eight years old. He has completed 20 marathons, including the ultra-marathons Marathon Des Sables ("the toughest footrace on earth") and The Comrades (both the "up run" and "down run").

Y's Men Thursday morning meetings are in Hoskins Hall downstairs in the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East in Westport. As always, donut and bagel social hour 9:00 to 10:00 am, short business meeting at 10:00, and speaker starts at 10:30 finishing no later than 11:30. Come early and meet your fellow members. Guests are always welcome.

Travel Group Meets Monday, March 17 at 9:00 am

The Y’s Men Travel Group will meet from 9:00 to 10:30 am on Monday, March 17 in Room 203 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church.

All meetings start with members talking about their recent travel experiences.

On Monday, there will be a special presentation by fellow traveler Dave Pressler.

David Pressler

"Eyes Wide Open – Myanmar & Cambodia”

Connecticut photographer, artist, designer and Y’s Men Travel Group member Dave Pressler shares his dynamic presentation, “Eyes Wide Open - Myanmar & Cambodia.” It was documented during his adventures in both Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Cambodia, in Southeast Asia.

Recorded through his visual awareness are ancient historic ruins and contemporary culture, architecture, landscapes, people, and things that are “… so very different from our culture and the norms of our daily life.” His core message: encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to become visually conscious of the world around them by “learning to look in order to see.” So, bring an open mind and…don’t forget to come with Your Eyes Wide Open!

We will have a lot of returning guys and new players are welcome.
