Jim Himes to Address Y's Men Tomorrow

U.S. Representative Jim Himes

Come early to tomorrow's meeting. Donut and bagel social hour begins at 9:00 am as usual but business meeting begins at 9:50 am (not 10:00 am) to allow more time for Congressman Himes.

Our nine-term Congressman Jim Himes (D-4th District) is bringing the latest news from Washington to tomorrow morning's meeting. Call it a Town Hall, since he will take questions, but doubtful anyone will be shouting at him. Himes serves as Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and on the House Financial Services Committee.

As always, we’ll meet downstairs in Westport’s Saugatuck Congregational Church. Donut and bagel social hour begins at 9:00 am and business meeting will begin at 9:50 am (instead of 10:00 am) to allow more time for Representative Himes.

Please invite friends, family and guests to attend. Come early and meet your fellow members. Guests always welcome.

Sign Up and Pay for Summer Tennis by Friday, March 28

Summer tennis will be here before you know it and we will be set to go with our Courts, Balls and Roster of Players, says Dewey Loselle, chairman of Y's Men summer tennis. If you are interested in playing, now is the time to take action. We will have a lot of returning guys and new players are welcome.

We play at Longshore on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 am for an hour and a half. All skill/experience levels are welcome. We play doubles only and will find good matches and games for everyone.

For everyone interested in playing, please pay $320.00 at this time via the credit card link below or send in a check payable to the Y's Men of Westport/Weston, P.O. Box 167, Westport, CT 06880.  Y’s Men deadline to register and pay is Friday, March 28.

Westport residents need to get (or renew) a Senior Premium Tennis Pass from the Department of Parks and Recreation, and non-residents just pay the daily fee at the window each time they play. Players also need to be a Y's Man in good standing with paid up dues.

New players to summer tennis should contact Dewey at DeweyLoselle@gmail.com.

Y's Men Pickleball Players Getting Ready for New Season

As soon as the nets are put up, Y's Men Pickleball Players should be ready to play. Almost 50 strong, the group will begin the season playing Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the Towns Farms courts on North Compo Road, the same location as last season.

This year Westport Parks and Recreation will be requiring all players to purchase a seasonal pickleball handpass ($50.00) or pay a daily guest fee ($20.00). The group's leadership is asking that the guest fee be waived for those not living in Westport. Stay tuned.
