Join Us at Sherwood Island This Thursday Morning

As Y’s Men, we all believe in the proper and renewable use of our natural resources. In Westport that means the beach. So while we picnic on Tuesday at Compo, every Thursday at 9:00 am we gather at the Pavilion at Sherwood Island State Park.

Except for the cardboard boxes for the coffee and the great views, it’s just like the winter venue at the Saugatuck Congregational Church. Same fine fellowship and donuts and bagels.

A Connecticut license plate on your car gets you in for free. Be sure to stop just beyond the young lady in the toll booth so she can see it

Come on down to chat with your fellow Y’s Men. Friends, family and guests are welcome. At 10:00 am there is an organized walk around the Park.

Services for Past President’s Son Will Be This Saturday

Services for Quinn Fatherley, a son of Y’s Men Past President Bob Fatherley, will be held at 2:00 pm this Saturday, August 9 at the Wilton Quaker Meeting House, 317 New Canaan Avenue, Wilton. Quinn passed away on July 14 in San Ramon, CA at the age of 57.

The service will recognize Quinn’s seven years of submarine duty with the U.S. Navy. His career was spent with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, first in Los Alamos, NM, and then in Livermore, CA.

The Fatherley family asks that donations in Quinn’s memory be made to PBS at PBS.org.
