GIDG Tomorrow: Rise and Fall of Right Wing Politics in Europe

The Global Issues Discussion Group (GIDG) meets tomorrow (Monday, May 4) at 9:00 am in room 203/204 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church. Members will discuss the rise and fall of right wing politics in Europe.

Y's Man Frank Wood will moderate the discussion.

For more information on GIDG, contact Y's Man Harvey Luft at harveyluft@gmail.com

Dr. Brittany Berk: Sexual Health – What Men Need to Know

Dr. Brittany Berk

Too often, men hesitate to learn about personal health concerns involving intimacy and sexual function. This Thursday, May 7, the Y’s Men will welcome Dr. Brittany Berk, a Fairfield-based urologist who specializes in men’s health, for a candid and informative discussion focused on “Men’s Sexual Dysfunction: Highlights and Insights.”

Dr. Berk will explore the most common concerns men face as they age, from performance and hormonal changes to prostate health and treatment options. She will also spotlight how men are often targeted by what she calls “parasitic” product marketing—costly pills, devices, and procedures that promise more than they deliver. She will explain how effective, evidence-based solutions are often available at a fraction of the price. Her talk will emphasize practical knowledge and clear options, helping men better understand issues they may encounter but rarely discuss openly.

About Dr. Berk:

Dr. Brittany Berk is a urologist with the Tallwood Men’s Health program of Hartford HealthCare Medical Group in Fairfield. She is fellowship-trained in men’s sexual health and infertility, with clinical expertise in erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, low testosterone, enlarged prostate, and related urologic conditions. Known for her approachable style and patient-centered care, Dr. Berk is committed to creating an open, judgment-free environment where men can get accurate information and evidence-based treatment options.

Y's Men Thursday morning meetings are in Hoskins Hall downstairs in the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East in Westport. Coffee, donut, and bagel social hour begins at 9:00 am, business meeting at 10:00 am, speaker at 10:30 am. Come early and meet your fellow members. Guests are always welcome.

Y's Men Treated to Piano Concert In Memory of Art Greenberg

Dr. Olga Vinokur performs for the Y's Men last Thursday.

Pianist (and Professor) Dr. Olga Vinokur brilliantly performed eternal classics by Chopin, Verdi/Liszt and Rachmaninoff, concluding with George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, before an ecstatic audience of Y's Men and friends packing the Sanctuary of the Saugatuck Congregational Church last Thursday.

What made the concert particularly touching was the Greenberg family's dedication of Dr. Vinokur's performance to the memory of Art Greenberg, a past president of the Y's Men.

His sponsorship of her performances was a gift that continues to give. Y's Man Jim Greenberg noted that his dad would have been very proud of the concert by Dr. Vinokur.

She concluded her performance with George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, which premiered 102 years ago. It was as exciting and vibrant as ever, particularly when played by Dr. Vinokur.

Thanks to John Brandt, Y's Men past president and co-chair of the Y's Men Classical Music Society for facilitating this entertaining program.
