Thursday Morning Fellowship Continues at Sherwood Island

Throughout the summer and starting tomorrow (June 5) the Y’s Men meet every Thursday at 9:00 am to share fellowship, coffee/donuts/bagels at the Sherwood Island State Park Pavilion.

Come on down to chat with your fellow Y’s Men. Friends, family and guests are welcome. At 10:00 am there is a walk around the State Park.

Panelists at Sunday's media discussion are (seated, right to left) U.S. Congressman Jim Himes, former Fox News and CNN anchor and now co-host of the new podcast "Sanity," Alisyn Camerota, News 12 anchor Rebecca Surran, former Westport first selectman Jim Marpe, and Fairfield University assistant professor of politics, Aaron Weinstein. Y's Men past president John Brandt (at podium) moderated the discussion.

Full House at the Library Media Panel Discussion

The second in a series of media panel discussions addressing the relationship between the Trump Administration and the media was the fare offered last Sunday to a full house of enthusiastic constituents at The Westport Library. The first media panel was last January with a focus on the state of news reporting and the impact of social media on current and future generations. Both panels were co-sponsored by the Y's Men and The Westport Library.

A wide-ranging discussion covered the changing role of the media today as well as the Administration's first 100-plus days in office and its interaction with the media. The event was moderated by Y's Men Past President John Brandt.

DNR With Y's Man Bob Altbaum to Rock the House

In Benefit Concert for The Westport Library

Y's Man Bob Altbaum and the DNR rock band will perform at a concert to benefit The Westport Library on Saturday, June 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Library's Trefz Forum.

Formed in 2002, the (almost) all-physician rock band DNR has been a community favorite for two decades, playing vintage tunes from the 1960s and 70s, including the music of Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and the Beatles.

DNR has performed at The Levitt Pavilion and has donated its time at many charitable events including fundraisers for pancreatic and breast cancer, Norwalk Hospital and ALS. In this performance at the Library, the band will talk about their history between songs and share some behind-the-scenes stories.
