| | Andrew Wilk at Classical Music Society October 7 | | |
Andrew Wilk
A number of years ago the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center performed at Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill, Kentucky and the concert was aired on the PBS "Live From Lincoln Center" television series. On Tuesday, October 7, from 2:45 to 4:15 pm at the Westport Center for Senior Activities, the Y's Men Classical Music Society will be viewing portions of that video entitled "Simple Gifts."
Guiding attendees through the video will be Andrew Wilk, a five-time Emmy award winner recognized for his decades of work in television, and former executive producer of "Live from Lincoln Center." He will be interviewed by John Brandt on how the "Simple Gifts" remote production came about, some of the challenges they faced, how he staged it and, more generally, how music is effectively captured on TV.
Because of limited seating at the Senior Center, reservations are required. Please reserve a seat through Y's Man Ed Bloch at edbloch71@gmail.com.

Y's Men Current Events Discussion Group Meets Weekly
A small group of Y's men meet weekly to discuss topics of mutual interest inspired by current events. That's the Y's Men Current Events Discussion Group.
There are two separate groups that meet on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 10:00 am for an hour-long discussion.
The topic for discussion is selected by consensus at the previous meeting. Each of the two separate groups is limited to seven members so everyone attending can actively participate in the discussion. An additional Monday group may be added should there be sufficient demand.
