What can one battle reveal about the true cost of war? Join the Military History Group at 10:30 am on Monday, October 5, at the Westport Center for Senior Activities when Y's Man Bruce Angeli leads “The Battle of the Somme: Why It Still Matters.”
More than a century after this pivotal World War I battle, the Somme still speaks to the human toll behind military strategy and territorial gains. Bruce will explore the people, decisions, and enduring legacy of one of history’s most consequential and tragic conflicts.
