No 7:00 p.m. Mass on Super Bowl Sunday

This is a reminder that there will be no 7:00 p.m. Mass on Sunday, February 11 due to the Super Bowl. We look forward to seeing you at our 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 4:30 p.m. Masses that day!

Ash Wednesday - February 14

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a 40-day period of prayer, fasting and almsgiving that ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter.

On Ash Wednesday, our foreheads are marked with ashes to humble our hearts and remind us that we were shaped from clay by God’s hands, and that we will return to God: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Ashes say you belong. You belong to God and are part of the larger church. Ashes serve as a visible reminder that we are not alone. If you have been away from the church, know God always welcomes you home. God willingly gives us His mercy.

Join us for Mass on Ash Wednesday. All Masses are held in the church unless the chapel is specified:

  • 7:00 a.m. - Daily Mass (no music)
  • 9:00 a.m. - School Mass (church)
  • 9:00 a.m. - School Mass (chapel)
  • 12:15 p.m.
  • 5:00 p.m.
  • 7:00 p.m.

There will be ash distribution available from 7:00 a.m. Mass - 7:00 p.m.

All are welcome to join us!

Lenten Bible Study: Time of Mercy with Fr. Kartje

Thursdays, Feb. 22, 29 and Mar. 14, 21, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m., Chapel

So often, Lent is associated with deprivation. We follow Jesus into the desert, as it were, because the feasting of Easter is coming, but it's not yet here. But in that desert, where food, drink, and joy can feel scarce, is the mercy of God--the cause of our joy--also scarce? This February and March, you're invited to join Fr. John Kartje, rector and president of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary, for a four-week investigation of Lent as a season of abundant, overflowing mercy!

Because God's mercy is for everyone, this course is for everyone! You don't need to be familiar with the Bible at all; you just need to be interested in learning about the gift of His mercy that God so desires to give you.

Embark on a Lenten journey of prayer with this four-week course! Discover the profound significance of prayer as an encounter with God, which can ignite our faith, strengthen our purpose, and restore us in hope. Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to tap into the critical importance of prayer. It is through this encounter with God that we truly flourish as God's sons and daughters. Meal Train in support of Madonna House

Thank you, Saint Clement family, for your generous support of the Madonna House partnership so far! As we near the welcome of families to the Madonna House, we are excited to circulate this meal train

that will help provide weeknight dinners to the women and children staying at the House. Saint Clement has committed to providing 2 dinners a week (Monday & Tuesday) to Madonna House. We are looking for volunteers to sign-up to make meals at your home and drop off at the parish on Monday before noon to be delivered to the Madonna House on Monday afternoons. We invite you to sign-up for a date or dates that work for you in the coming weeks! This is a great opportunity to cook with your family, your friends, or maybe even your small group. In the coming weeks, the Madonna House will be home to about 20 people, with the majority of them being small children. For serving sizes, please plan to cook for about 10-12 adults.

If you need help with recipe ideas, have questions about drop-off logistics, or would like to learn more about other ways to be involved with the Madonna House, please Martina Ricca and Christina Oropeza. Thank you!

Lenten Almsgiving - Madonna House

For the past three months, Saint Clement has graciously supported Catholic Charities in their work to reopen the Madonna House, a women's and children's shelter for migrant families who are survivors of domestic violence. Through multiple donations of clothing, bedding, household supplies, children's toys, meal trains, welcome baskets, and more, the Saint Clement community has responded "Yes!" to the call of serving others.

As we journey through this Lenten season, we ask for your help in supporting the efforts of Saint Clement volunteers and Catholic Charities Staff in the upkeep of Madonna House. This upkeep is not exclusive to the physical structure of the House; but rather, and arguably more important, is the upkeep of the relationships and bonds created between the Saint Clement community and the families. As these women and children have been brought out of exile into a new home, it is our duty as their brothers and sisters to help care for them. Your support of our Lenten Almsgiving for Madonna House will help to cover the operating expenses of the House, and will help to provide programming essential to the families' healing.
