This past spring, YAGP built the world’s first global platform for virtual scholarship auditions, matching young dancers everywhere with education opportunities worldwide. While travel restrictions kept everyone at home, hundreds of young dancers were able to audition by video using YAGP’s platform. As a result, over 100 scholarships were awarded to dancers from over 21 countries, with some starting as early as this September.

As YAGP continues to evolve and innovate in response to the challenges presented by the global pandemic, we are now pleased to welcome you to the YAGP 2021 Season and the first-ever virtual YAGP Asia Pacific Semi-Finals. Prizes will include:

  • Scholarships to YAGP partner schools
  • Cash prize of $1,000 for 1st place winners in SR category
  • Special features on YAGP social media

This event is specifically designed for students in Australia, New Zealand, and countries in the South Asian Pacific region. Participants will upload required classwork footage as well as videos of their solos for the competition, which will be streamed on YAGP social media and judged by YAGP's esteemed jury panel.

Continuing our mission to provide education and training opportunities to dancers worldwide, participants will then take part in online Master Classes the following weekend. Classes will be structured so that participants may either attend from their own homes, or students from the same school may gather in their independent studios for their assigned classes, depending on local health regulations.
Master Classes during the YAGP 2019 Australia Semi-Finals, with Oliver Matz, Director of Zurich Dance Academy, and Jean-Yves Esquerre, Founder & Director of European School of Ballet
The YAGP Asia Pacific Semi-Finals will serve as auditions for scholarships and placement with YAGP's complete list of partner schools around the world and as qualifying rounds for the 2021 Season Finals.

Select qualifying dancers will be invited to join the YAGP 2021 Season Finals with talented young dancers from other YAGP live and virtual semi-finals all over the world. The Season Finals, which will include both live and virtual components, will take place in late spring / early summer, with further details to be announced at a later date.

The YAGP Team
Dance has the power to inspire, uplift and transform – but when it comes to young minds, its power to elevate goes far beyond the stage.

Sharing the stage at YAGP with fellow dancers from around the globe creates an environment where diversity and inclusion are not just aspirational goals, but a shared reality – helping students become not only better artists, but better global citizens.
