Hi YGS!
Believe it or not~spring is a month away! Lots of engaged learning continues at Yorkville Grade.

Family Night: This week we enjoyed a fun, engaging family night! Thank you for joining us for pizza, art, music, the book fair, and a literacy scavenger hunt! The night was inspired by author Katherine Roy. Our students will meet her in the spring! Thank you to the YGS staff for organizing such a great night for our community.

Read Across America:
YGS will celebrate the national Read Across America this Thursday, February 28th! Have your child come to school in PJ's and bring a pillow and blanket/sleeping bag. We will stop and drop everything at the end of the day to read! You can learn more about this day HERE .

Be Well!

When you read, we often want to encourage our child to 'make a movie in your mind.' That means as much as reading the words is important (decoding), understanding what's happening is equally important. Here's a guide when you read at home!
