I hope you had an amazing weekend! The weather sure was beautiful. As we approach a new week, please take a moment to reflect on car line etiquette if you are a parent who participates in student drop off and pick up. Typically, I greet students at the main entrance where the busses drop off, as that is where the majority of our students arrive. However, due to continued concerns about car line etiquette and student safety, I have tried to have a stronger presence in our drop off area during arrival. It is important to remember the following:

  • Please pull forward to the furthest orange cone prior to stopping your car. This ensures we do not have cars lined up on Game Farm Road/Somonauk Street.
  • Students should only be dropped off between the orange cones. Student drop off should not take place prior to the crosswalk.
  • Please do not pass in the car line. Driving around cars in the car line creates an unsafe environment for our students and increases the risk of an accident.
  • Students must exit on the passenger side of the car as this ensures their safety on the sidewalk.

I appreciate your cooperation in helping our students stay safe! Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

KIndergarten Registration is this week, on both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm at Yorkville High School. If you or someone you know has an incoming Kindergarten student, please join us for registration. Be sure to bring the child's original birth certificate and three proofs of residency. Please click HERE for more information.

I am proud to announce that in just 2 days this week, our YGS students have raised $685 for the American Heart Association in connection to Jump Rope for Heart! Please consider donating to this valuable cause.

On Friday, our students will participate in an all school Game Day! Students are invited to bring in games of their choice, but we ask to refrain from bringing electronics. I am proud of the students for earning over 5,000 CHAMPS Bucks to participate in this event! Well done, Foxes!!!

Have a great week!

No problem! If your child needs to leave early from school, please inform the office by sending a note or calling prior to 3pm.  The office will be sure to inform your child's teacher and the teacher will ensure your child is packed and ready to be dismissed when requested. However, the office will not call your child down, nor will the teacher send your child down to the office, until you have arrived to pick them up. There could be a change in your plans, such as traffic, which may impact your arrival time. We want to make sure we maximize the amount of instruction time your child has. As soon as you arrive for pick up, we will call your child down to be dismissed. Thank you for understanding and please let the office know if you have questions.
