Greetings YGT folks!

To continue Building Resilience, our focus turns inward this week for the next tip:
Nurture a Positive View of Yourself.

We're all doing the best we can. Accept that about yourself and let that feeling of self-acceptance settle in to provide an emotional safe haven.

There's a saying among athletes and performers- "Stay within yourself."
Meaning, don't overreach and stay within your own experience. Allow yourself to have some space to react to events and time to make a choice about how you want to respond.

Accept that you'll continue to try to do your best - which is all you can do in these challenging times. Try to identify your strengths based on past successes or what helped you overcome past challenges. Developing confidence in your ability to solve problems and trusting your instincts builds resilience, but you have to recognize those strengths and recall them in moments of doubt.

Take time to notice your strengths this week and use them to power the change when pushing forward. YOU GOT THIS!

NAMI Virtual Support Groups

NAMI New Orleans hosts online support groups on Zoom, open to any adult living with mental illness. NAMI connection is a free and confidential support group led by trained facilitators that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.

Come Together: COVID-19 Crisis
Online support groups for music industry professionals that aim to address the anxieties associated with COVID-19’s effects on the music industry, provide information and resources, and support each other during this difficult time. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Newman will lead a group meditation.

MHSD's chat line will now be available to the general public on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will be led by IWES mental health professionals. The goal of this initiative is to assist people with anxiety and concerns by sharing healthy coping skills and techniques.

Creative Mornings/New Orleans
A free monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community and a space to spark connections through a celebration of our city's creative voices. Everyone is welcome. Free events hosted on the final Friday of the month & includes a 20-minute talk from a local creative. Next event: July 31st!
The New Orleans Theatre Association presents first class, cultural offerings and supports the arts throughout the Gulf South. Special thanks to NOTA, who recently awarded the NOMC funding for mental health services to meet the increasing need to serve the performing arts community.
