National Convention Recap! | |
Teens from across the country reunited several weeks ago at National Convention; this year had the highest number of teens registered in more than a decade!
The teens had a magical Shabbat together - enjoying unplugging from everyday life and devices, connecting with one another, and participating in YJ shabbat traditions.
On Saturday, there was meaningful educational programming focused on Israel, with discussions of Israeli history, the current political landscape, and an honoring of Omer Neutra, a member of the YJ family.
On Sunday teens participated in a Conference on Antisemitism, this year’s National Initiative, with group discussions, workshops, and keynote presentations from Adela Cojab and Vanessa Hidary on their experiences. The teens also held an asepha to elect the incoming National Mazkirut! Thank you to everyone who was involved and participated in National Convention this year, it was a wonderful time together!

100 Words on Israel
By Amit Castel, Young Judaea's Central Shaliach

In the latest hostage deal, 10 hostages have been released out of a total of 33, with 25 confirmed alive. The first phase includes future releases scheduled for February 8, 15, and 22, with the final release to take place in the last week of the agreement. It’s expected that these upcoming releases will be smoother, without the obstacles seen in previous phases.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also traveled to Washington to meet with President Donald Trump, discussing peace agreements, particularly with Saudi Arabia, and the Iranian threat.
On the local front, Justice Yitzhak Amit was appointed President of Israel’s Supreme Court, a move expected to lead to a constitutional crisis, with Justice Minister Yariv Levin strongly opposed to the decision.
