YMCA CHANGEMAKERS
On June 13-17, Y-USA welcomed approximately 200 youth leaders representing 47 states and DC to Washington, DC for the 2022 Youth Governors Conference! High school students from three program tracks traveled to the nation’s capital to connect, learn and meet with their members of Congress about the issues important to them. The Changemakers Project Leaders presented their project proposals to improve their communities, and three Changemakers teams were awarded $5,000 in funding to implement their projects at home in their communities.

Out of all of the proposed projects, our two students, Nicole and Alex, Baton Rouge Magnet High School students, were selected as the Changemaker's Challenge winners! Congratulations to our winners! Our Changemaker winners will be publicly recognized at the July 27th Baton Rouge Metro Council Meeting.
While in D.C. Courtney Jackson, BR Y team member, connected with Suzanne McCormick, President and CEO of YMCA of the USA, and Shalanda Young, Director of the Office of Management and Budget and speaker at the YMCA Youth Governors Conference.
BARANCO-CLARK YMCA AND OPEN HEALTH CARE CLINIC RIBBON CUTTING
The YMCA of the Capital Area has partnered with Open Health Care Clinic in efforts to bring family health care services to South Baton Rouge!
