NEW WELLNESS CENTER
The C. B. Pennington Jr. YMCA has opened a new wellness center nearly five years after the flood of 2016, which caused more than 1.5 million dollars in damage.

Over the past several years, the Y has undergone several renovations to the facility including renovations to the locker rooms, gymnasium, kids zone and community room. The new wellness center, which features new cardio and weight training equipment, is a big step forward in the rebuilding process. The Y also completed several cosmetic upgrades to the facility during this most recent phase of construction.

Join us for our open house on July 24, 2021, from 9am until 12pm, for a tour, refreshments and door prizes.

“This is one of many efforts of our Y continuing to work hard to meet the goals and objectives of our Y’s Strategic Plan. The Y hopes to provide a lifelong sense of belonging; strengthen relationships and nurture spirit, mind and body for all.” said Christian Engle, President/CEO, YMCA of the Capital Area.

Anyone who is currently an active foster parent can receive support for YMCA membership, swimming lessons, sports programs, summer camps and more. For more information and to register, foster parents may stop by any of the seven YMCA of the Capital Area locations and bring their DCFS identification card/letter signifying they are a foster parent.
