Celebrating Community & Togetherness
At the Y, July is more than just the heart of summer—it’s a season for connection, laughter, and community. Whether it’s making new friends at summer camp or walking side by side in a local race, this month reminds us of the power of community. Together, we build stronger bonds, brighter futures, and lasting memories. Let’s keep showing up for each other—because when we come together, we thrive!

Making a Splash!
On June 26, our YMCA joined thousands around the globe for The World’s Largest Swim Lesson, raising awareness about the life-saving importance of water safety. Dozens of local families participated in the fun, hands-on lessons, helping build stronger swimmers and safer summers. Thank you to all who joined us, our partner YWCA Lower Cape Fear, and our incredible aquatics team for making the day unforgettable!

Youth Participation Policies
We are always excited to welcome more families and youth into our YMCA community! To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, here’s a quick reminder of our youth policies:
Open Play Courts:
Youth ages 8–12 are welcome during designated Open Play times, as long as they are actively engaged in the scheduled activity. The pickleball open play policy allows ages 16 and older to participate during open play.
Group Exercise Classes:
Youth ages 8–12 may participate in adult Group Exercise classes with a supervising guardian after completing the Wellness Orientation certification process. They must remain actively engaged throughout the class.
Child Watch:
Please check our current Child Watch hours—youth are also welcome to enjoy time there while parents are using the facility.
Thank you for helping us create a welcoming and respectful space for all members this summer!
