Our Giving Tree is Growing!
You can find a gym, swimming pool or treadmill in many different places. But it is our cause that makes the Y so special. The real measure of who we are is reflected in the lives we impact.

Give back to our community by donating to the Y's Annual Campaign , which provides scholarships for those who need the Y most. These scholarships give kids, families and adults the opportunity to pay program and membership fees that align to their household income so that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.

For every gift made to the Y, a leaf will be added to our Giving Tree!

If you are interested in supporting the Y's cause, you can make a donation online or drop off a donation at the Membership Desk.

What is your job at the Y?
I am a Zumba Gold instructor. I also sub for Zumba, Senior Combo, Seated Cardio Fit, Stretch and Strength and Deep-Water Aerobic classes.

How long have you worked at the Y?
I taught my first class at the Y December 31, 2018.

What is your Y story?
My Y story began in 2013.  I was constantly in pain, requiring knee replacements.  I was more than 100 pounds overweight and told the surgery couldn’t be performed until I lost at least 100 pounds. I did a lot of praying to God to help me to lose the weight that I could have the surgeries to stop the pain. I called around to all the fitness centers and gyms in the area checking on prices as well as location that public transportation Wave would transport me. Location and membership prices at the Y were almost perfect for my situation. I prayed about it some more about the same time my nephew who was a Y member at the time gave me a two-week pass. I came to the Y and talked to Dalia, Tom and Rob Y staff about my goals and needs.  During the trial period the front desk staff told me about all the programs and services the Y provided.  I also met some friendly people who were members at that time.  Talking to the staff and the members I decided the Y was the place I wanted to be to work on my weight loss and fitness goals. So, I joined the Y in 2014, met my weight loss goal in 2016 and had my first knee surgery, had my second knee surgery in 2017 and have been at the Y since.
