First and foremost, a sincere thank you to everyone for your understanding, patience and cooperation as we work through this pandemic together. This email is to give you an update on the status of our YMCA operations as a whole. Per Governor Reynolds’ briefing on November 16th, 2020 the following mitigation efforts are in place at the Burlington Y effective today, November 17th, 2020:

Organized sports and activities are suspended until further notice. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: pickleball, racquetball leagues, volleyball leagues, basketball leagues, soccer leagues, competitive swim team, gymnastics and swimming group lessons, dance, Itty Bitty Sports Camp and Friday at the Y.
**If you are currently enrolled in a program, please watch for email communication specific to that program for next steps.** Private swim and gymnastics (1-on-1) lessons will remain available for both existing participants as well as new participants.

All group fitness classes (both land and water) are suspended until further notice, but personal training will remain available.

Racquetball courts are limited to 2 players per court.

Basketball hoops are limited to 2 players per hoop and a reservation/hoop assignment must be made at the front desk prior to entry.

Child watch services (for child care while members work out in the facility) will be discontinued effective Friday, November 20th at noon.

The track, weight room, cardio room, functional training room, pool, locker rooms and health service centers remain open with the same guidelines that are currently in place. All previous mitigation efforts are still in place throughout the Y. Please wear a mask in common areas throughout the YMCA. Members exercising in designated high-intensity activities need to make every effort to maintain a 6ft distance when masks cannot be worn.

Memberships, Guest Passes and Day Passes will continue to be accepted. However, those under the age of 14 must be in the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times. All members and guests will be required to sign a waiver prior to using the facility. The waiver can be accessed by clicking HERE. Members under the age of 18 must have a parent/legal guardian sign the waiver prior to using the facility.

No more than 15 people are allowed in any one room at a time and social distancing with at least 6 feet in between is mandatory throughout the facility when masks cannot be worn. Congregating will not be allowed in the facility.

We cannot overload any one space. There may be times when one area is full, and additional members will not be allowed entry. We ask that you please remain patient and be as flexible as possible.

Our building hours will remain as follows:

Monday-Thursday:             5:00am – 8:00pm
Fridays: 5:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday:                         7:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday:                           CLOSED
Please keep in mind that the Essential Childcare (Hybrid) Program and our Childcare Center are still open and will remain open unless directed otherwise by state and health officials.
As you can see, the Burlington Area YMCA Leadership Team has been hard at work figuring out how to serve our members in a safe and responsible manner. In this time of uncertainty, we are sure of this: we will work together with our members, in addition to our board of directors and local officials, to determine the safest and most responsible way to move forward to the best of our ability in this new and different environment.
