YMI's Mayor Breakfast

YMI's 9th annual Mayor's Breakfast will be held on Thursday, August 29. The event this year will be hosted at an exciting new venue, the Fishers City Hall Theater.


If you'd like to join city and school officials, community leaders, business owners, and fellow mentors at this breakfast event, ticket sales are now open. Mentors have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets of $25 until August 1.

Important Dates & Updates

Mentor Recommitment - Summer moves quickly! In the next few weeks, you'll receive a few communications from YMI as we ramp back up to mentoring in the schools for the 2024-25 school year.


  1. Mentor Commitment Renewal Form -You'll receive a request from YMI to complete this form mid-July. This helps us make sure all of your information is accurate in our system, and gives you an opportunity to review our Mentor Handbook and "recommit" for the year. It is important that all mentors complete this form!
  2. Campus Coordinator Touch Base - Your current campus coordinator will reach out confirm school schedules and start dates.

Summer Connection Events - Thank you to all who attended our June Summer Connection event! It's so great seeing our people in our "off months."


We're looking forward to our July event at uPaint Pottery, at Hamilton Town Center, on July 17 from 4-6 pm to paint a mug with your mentee. Matches are encouraged to attend this event together, but individual mentors are welcome to join.


Pre-registration is required and will close at end of day Friday, July 12 -- so register now! Please note there are two available time slots to register for when planning your attendance.

2024-25 Kick-off to Mentoring - We know there are a few months until the next school year, but as the months get busy we're asking you to save the date for our 2024-25 school year Kick-off to Mentoring on Thursday, September 18 from 6- 7:30 pm.

Mentor's Corner

YMI recently signed up for a new volunteer management platform through Bloomerang.


The greatest benefits of this system to YOU will be:

  1. our mentoring schedule reminders
  2. tracking your volunteer time, and
  3. communicating with YMI staff through an app.


We look forward to streamlining communication with our volunteers and maintaining relationships with our long-standing mentors, but need your help to do so!


We're doing a soft launch THIS WEEK, and will be sending additional information (including training on how to use this new app) later this month. In the meantime, please look for an email from Bloomerang on how to confirm your account by creating a password.
