November 2023

Giving Thanks

It's true you can't say "thank you" enough, and since November is a month centered around kindness and gratitude, it's a great time for us to shout it out.

As you are mentoring youth, we know a "thank you" doesn't come easily or frequently. You'll find below a few ways you've made an impact directly from our YMI mentees.

At your next mentoring meeting, take a minute to show gratitude to your student for choosing to spend their time with you, and consider what you are grateful for today.

"Having a mentor helps me share my problems and difficulties I have in my life, and helps me become a better person."

"It makes me feel more assured and confident that I have people to talk to."

"I love having my mentor because...I know I can always go to her."

My mentor is "someone who I can go to with anything without judgment and helps me overcome hard things in life."

YMI would like to recognize our one, three, and five year mentors for November.

Points to highlight in your post:

Mentor's Corner

It's World Kindness Week! And a great reminder on how we can make intentional choices to be kind and spread good.

  • - Listen to a podcast or a Ted Talk about the power of kindness and goodwill. Leave inspired!

  • - Be kind to yourself by scheduling time for self-care throughout the day or week. Doing something for YOU after sharing yourself with others is how we continue to pour from our buckets.
