Move in Memory 2024: Getting Back to Green
Next month, the Employee Safety and Wellness Team invites you to join Yellowstone’s 3rd Annual Move in Memory event.
Move in Memory is a memorial event through movement. It is a time for us to memorialize our family, friends, and colleagues who have died by suicide, while also reflecting on our own physical, emotional, and mental health.
This event will take place over two weeks, February 11-24, 2024. Together, NPS volunteers, and employees and their families/partners are invited to come together as a community to Move in Memory.
Mark your calendars and learn more!

2024 spring opening dates
For those of you looking to plan ahead, check out the 2024 spring plowing dates.
- New this year: Area plowing dates are listed at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Keep in mind that despite an area being cleared of snow, buildings and offices may not be ready for use. Check with your local facilities lead to get a better idea of when buildings may be open.
- Updates to the schedule will be shared via email on a routine basis once operations begin.

Heat checks
Going on leave this winter? Family vacation? Furlough? If you plan to vacate your park housing for an extended period of time during the fall, winter, or spring months, sign up for heat checks!
- What are heat checks? FMO staff will make sure your residence is staying at optimal temperatures to avoid plumbing line breaks and other issues. This will help ensure that your home is ready to be cozy warm and fully functional when you return home!
-
Most heat checks are performed by external monitoring methods, but staff may need to enter your residence to access heating system units and perform other maintenance needs. Protect your home from the cold - sign up for heat checks today!

We will explore stories from different cultural heritages, from Greek mythology encapsulating heroes and villains, to important life lessons taught through various Native American cultures. Join me for an evening staring at the stars!
