thanks·giv·ing - an expression of gratitude

Dear Friends,

As the DuPage County Volunteer Center, we have the great fortune to see and hear stories of how people are helping other people, through your inspiring example of service and generosity. It brings us great pleasure to share a note of 'Thanksgiving' as an expression of our gratitude for you.

We thank every volunteer who has devoted one hour of time and every donor who has given one item, or one dollar, because your collective giving is literally transforming our community.

As you celebrate the coming holiday with family & friends, we want you to know...

YOU ARE POWERFUL Within you lies the powerful ability to make someone's life better.

YOU POSSESS A GIFT. There is a local charity looking for your exact gifts, skills and talents, combined with your passion, for their cause.

YOU HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL. To realize our fullest potential is to also give of ourselves.

YOU ARE A BLESSING. Your service and commitment makes our community better, stronger, more kind and more connected.

We are proud to report our Volunteer Portal website connects 5 volunteers every day and this is a direct result of over 6,500 volunteers who have signed up and responded to local volunteer needs.

This is a wonderful start and we can reach an even greater tipping point - where your generosity creates impact. Together, let's pledge to volunteer 3 hours of time between now and the end of the year.

Consider the impact of one volunteer's gifts, talents, experiences and time, then multiply this good by 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000 volunteers.

What message would this send to our local nonprofit community and to the families they serve? What if we, together, overwhelmed local nonprofit organizations with a volunteer response so great that they could barely keep up with our kindness?

We hope you will consider sharing the Volunteer Portal link below or sign up to volunteer as your kind act of giving before Giving Tuesday.

On a personal note, I would also like to thank our Giving DuPage staff, volunteers, sponsors, committees and board for their steadfast commitment and service to our mission. We further extend our thanks to over 400 local nonprofit partners whose programs & services improve and empower lives throughout our DuPage community.

On behalf of the Giving DuPage team, I thank you for your partnership, fellowship and friendship.

We are grateful for the many blessings of your generosity in our local community. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
