'BAKING WITH BRANDON'
AN 'EXPLOSION' OF FLAVOR IN ANDES COOKIES
In this week's Baking With Brandon, host Brandon Weideman has a bit of a packaging mishap as he prepares some delicious Andes Mint Cookies. Each Monday at 11 a.m., Brandon releases a new weekly baking session as part of the Student Events Team online event programming. Brandon, a music industry major, is the Concert Chair for the Student Events Team

TRENNE-MALTARE WIN
NEW STUDENT GOVERNMENT SELECTED
Student Government elections for the 2020-21 academic year concluded last Thursday, April 16, with Andrew Trenne and Arnavee Maltare elected to respective president and vice president positions. The new Student Government is expected to have its first meeting next Wednesday.

ADDRESSING INT'L STUDENT NEEDS
An April 20 virtual town meeting with key university administrators addressed international student needs and concerns created by the campus closure and the national shutdown due to COVID-19.

STUDENTS HIRED TO ARCHIVE COVID-19
The Memorial Library at Minnesota State Mankato is hiring as many as 200 students to help document the historic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Many furloughed international students are finding alternate campus employment.

The annual Greek Awards moved online April 19 with a video presentation of outstanding members and chapters for Fraternity and Sorority Life at Minnesota State Mankato. Two campus administrators were also honored during the virtual ceremony.

Samuel Oluwadoromi of Logos, Nigeria, found college enrichment through Leadership U and the Fashion Photography Club.

JOB HUNTING TIPS DURING COVID-19
KEYC News featured Pam Weller, director of the Career Development Center, in its Tuesday newscast as it looked at tips and strategies for job hunting students and graduates during COVID-19. Among Weller's advice was be patient with potential employers as they navigate their businesses and services through the pandemic and current shutdown.

Maggie with Alliance of Therapy Dogs always believes there is something uplifting about getting dressed up. That's especially true during these trying times. Looking as fashionable as ever, she extends virtual Hound Hugs and Kanine Kisses until we can all meet again.

COVID-19 STUDENT HOTLINE
THROUGH STUDENT HEALTH SERVICES
The Student Health Services Medical Clinic and Pharmacy remain open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m during the current shutdown. Medical providers are available for both in-person and telehealth visits. These can be scheduled through the  Patient Portal  or by calling during business hours. In addition, the office has implemented a COVID-19 Hotline just for students! Calls to (507) 389-5591 will be answered or responded to Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Today marked the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, a global observance f or environmental protection awareness. T he Mavericks for Clean Air Task Force and the Environmental Committee partnered to provide free online access to MERCHANTS OF DOUBT, a documentary that becomes even more relevant as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds. This documentary examines perceptions of climate change and works to develop critical thinking skills by encouraging the viewer to sort through confusing messages and distinguish between truth, propaganda, and misinformation.  After viewing, share your opinions @MavsForCleanAir Facebook or Instagram sites.
