Federal Arts and Culture Issues

C.1.   Participate in Americans for the Arts (AFTA) Arts Advocacy Challenge --  a  challenge to encourage grassroots advocates to take action on five different items throughout August and beyond with their members of Congress:

#1:  Cosponsor the CREATE Act of 2019 (S. 650 and H.R.1519)
#2.  Cosponsor the STAR ActSaving Transit Art Resources Act ( H.R. 3437)
#3.  Cosponsor the RISE From Trauma Act ( S. 1770)
#4.  Ensure increased appropriations in the VA/DoD appropriations bill
#5.  Cosponsor the Performing Artist Tax Parity Act of 2019   (H.R. 3121): Legislation to update the Qualified Performing Artist (QPA) tax -- Florida U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan and California Representative Judy Chu introduced this bill on June 5.

C.4.    $167.5 million approved by House for the National Endowment for the Arts; Senate has not taken up appropriation issues.  FY 2020 appropriations are still very much in play.

Details and materials  to use to engage in and promote arts education.    Florida's DRAFT proclamation that was submitted to Governor DeSantis by the Florida Alliance for Arts Education; however, it was not approved due to the Florida Department of Education's request to celebrate March 2020 as Arts Education Month.
