Regional partnership and sharing has never been more important in the North Country and so we have been facilitating a number of regional conversations and taking part in even more. In just the last few days, for example:
- PARTNER CHAMBERS: We conducted a virtual meeting with our Partner Chambers to update them on our services and initiatives related to COVID-19, hear what each of them is doing in their communities and identifying new ways to collaborate. Taking part were the following Partner Chambers: Adirondack-Speculator, Akwesasne, Indian Lake, Inlet, Malone, North Warren, Saranac Lake, Schroon Lake, and Ticonderoga. We and our Partner Chambers group will now be coming together for a sharing session every two weeks.
- ECONOMIC DEVELOPERS: We hosted a similar virtual gathering of our Economic Development Partners, with the following participants in addition to the North Country Chamber, NAmTrans and SCORE:The Development Corp., Clinton County IDA, Essex County IDA, Franklin County IDA, Franklin County LDC, Adirondack Economic Development Corp., Workforce Development Institute, ANCA, CITEC, SUNY Canton SBDC, and the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board.
On the county level in our service area, the North Country Chamber is participating in each county's local committee or task force dealing with reopening. Garry Douglas, President, is on the Clinton County group and also working with Hamilton County; Susan Matton, VP Economic Development, is working with Franklin County; and Kristy Kennedy, VP Operations & Business Development, with Essex.
It is the traditional readiness to partner and share across our North Country region that will serve us well going forward!

This is providing food to nearly 50 food banks, soup kitchens and food pantries, including North Country dairy products. According to the Governor, more than 20,000 households will receive Nourish NY products within the next week.
