Here are the latest updates and resources for businesses and employees during this uncertain time including information on Child Care being offered through the YMCA, a new hiring page we recently developed, as well as a way to sign up for our Webinar tomorrow about Updates for Employers on State and Federal Leave Mandates and Employee Benefits.

Also, we know there are lots of questions about the Stimulus Bill currently being worked on. Rest assure your Chamber Team is monitoring the details closely and as soon as we have details we will get those to our members. Stay Tuned!

Plattsburgh/Malone Emergency Child Care Program - YMCA
The  Plattsburgh   /  Malone  YMCA is proud to announce that they are ready to roll out an emergency childcare program for essential personnel starting immediately.

The "School’s Out Club" will operate Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm and will be able to serve 64 children in Plattsburgh and 24 children in Malone. These numbers are a starting point; as the need grows so will the program. There is also availability for the youngest children ages 0-3 years at our Bright Beginnings Child Care Center.

There is no question that this uncertain time has negatively impacted employment in the North Country. It has resulted in, for a time, many layoffs.

However, there are several sectors that have had a surge in business because of the situation and they are hiring . There are also many employers deemed as essential who have various positions to fill.

DEC ANNOUNCEMENT:
New York's Trout and Salmon Fishing Season Opens April 1
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that trout and salmon fishing season in New York State opens on Monday, April 1. Anglers can visit the  Department of Environmental Conservation's website  to view this spring's planned trout stocking!

Get outside and enjoy fishing on the Adirondack Coast (while still practicing safe social distancing, of course!).
