These materials may seem harmless—but during a wildfire, dry needles and leaves near your home can become fuel that allows flames to ignite your structure.
We encourage all residents to start by clearing roofs, gutters, decks, and the first
5 feet around homes or outbuildings. Then, expand your efforts to the first 30 feet around structures (Home Ignition Zone 2).

CO 67 Widening in Woodland Park
Traffic Impacts - May 4 to May 10
Please be advised of the following traffic impacts, restrictions and planned work for next week for the Colorado Highway 67 Widening in Woodland Park project in Teller County.
Upcoming Travel Advisory: Starting Monday, May 5 - Closure Stone Ridge Drive from the CO 67 intersection to Ptarmigan Drive - 24/7 closure with detour routes posted.
- The closure will be in place for approximately four weeks.
- No vehicular or sidewalk access will be permitted on Stone Ridge Drive west of the CO 67 intersection to Ptarmigan Drive.
- The closure is necessary while crews lower a water line andperform utility work.
- The recommended detour route is to take Millstone Lane to Research Drive, as shown on the map. Southbound CO 67 traffic can turn around to access the detour route by taking a left turn at West Kelley's Road, heading south on Sundance Street, and turning west on Red Feather Lane to enter northbound CO 67.
- No impacts to CO 67 or West Kelley's Road will exist during this closure.
- Signs and construction devices are in place to alert the public to the work zone restrictions.
- Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.

Join Mueller naturalist and the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society for the first star party of the season. Meet outside the Visitor Center
Discover beautiful water features at the park. You will see 4 ponds in the park along with plants and animals that enjoy being near water. This is a 5 mile moderate hike. We will go at a pace that allows for everyone to enjoy themselves. Bring plenty of water and snacks. End time is an estimate and will depend on the pace of the group.
Junior Rangers in the Forest

Meet outside the Visitor Center
Ever wanted to learn more about the forest and critters at Mueller State Park? Mueller has lots of wildlife and wildlands to see. Come and complete the requirements to become a Junior Ranger! Best for ages 6-12 who enjoy spending time on the trails, but all ages are welcome. Children and their grown ups should attend together.
Programs happen rain, snow or shine unless posted otherwise.
*All hike and walk end times are an estimate and will depend on the pace of the group.
