Dear Linda,

This past year was a wonderful celebration of how far we've come and the number of Chicagoland children we have been able to serve with critical mental healthcare and Camp SOAR since Children's Research Triangle (CRT) was founded 1998.

We have grown our team, our services, the number of locations and community partners with which we work, and most importantly, the number of children and families we can serve each year, thanks to your generous support. It is donors and funders like you that make this work possible!

Read on to discover more about the children we serve and the impact you and CRT have had in 2023:

With 91% of CRT's mental healthcare clients living below the poverty line, we are continually striving to increase the accessibility of our services in Chicago's communities with high needs and scarcity of resources.

CRT's mental health services are designed to reach undeserved youth, who are primarily Black and Brown from Chicago's South and West sides. A heartbreaking 95% of our clients have experienced significant family and/or community trauma.

We provide mental health services to nearly 1,000 children annually through an ever growing network of community partners, as well as teletherapy, in-home visits, and CRT’s Loop clinic.

CRT's partnerships with shelters, schools, social service agencies, and vet centers allow us to provide mental health services on-site at 18 locations throughout Chicago, which increases mental health equity by reaching children and families in the environments and situations they experience every day.

We are proud to receive funding from the Bob Woodruff Foundation to support our work providing mental health services to veteran and military families through local vet centers and other community partners in the Chicago area.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation and grantees like CRT are committed to ensuring our nation’s impacted veterans, service members, and their families have access to the highest level of support and resources they’ve earned. Together, we’ve #GotYour6.

Register here for a webinar presented by the Bob Woodruff Foundation on April 24, which includes Dr. Linda Schwartz, CEO of CRT, as a presenter on military kids’ mental health.

Camp SOAR welcomed 88 campers and 106 volunteer counselors and staff for the best week of summer in 2023! Donations make Camp SOAR possible.

Your support helped CRT bridge the gap between the $500 tuition paid by families and the $1,500 actual cost of Camp SOAR per camper.

We invite you to read the full 2023 Impact Report Newsletter, which provides more detail about the children we serve and the ways we reach them throughout Chicagoland with mental health services and Camp SOAR.

Thanks to friends of CRT like you, we have continued to increase the breadth and reach of our work to serve more children and families than ever before.

As Camp SOAR reaches it's 25th Anniversary, we hope to celebrate with you at the Heroes of Our Hearts Gala on Saturday, November 9, 2024!

Sincerely,

Linda Schwartz, PhD
