Julian Lewis of Carrollton named 2023 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year

Julian Lewis of Carrollton (Ga.) is the 2023 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year, joining past high school football stars like Derrick Henry (2010), Jabrill Peppers (2011), DJ Uiagalelei (2017), Quinn Ewers (2019), Lebbeus Overton (2020), Elijah Brown (2021) and Bryce Underwood (2022) as winners.

Lady Trojan Basketball dominates the Carolina Invitational


The Lady Trojan Basketball program traveled to Charleston, South Carolina during the break to play some great competition and bond as a team. The Lady Trojans defeated Wando, 56-15, Fort Dorchester, 59-28, and capped it off with a 42-30 win over Oakland. The Lady Trojans start the new year with an 8-2 record and open up region play Friday at East Coweta.

Lady Trojan Wrestling shows out over the break


The Lady Trojan wrestling team had a successful winter break bringing home trophies at two tournaments. They placed second at the Greenbrier Invitational on Dec. 27 then followed up with a first-place finish at the Gilmer Invitational. The JV team took the championship at the Callaway Invitational, a field comprised of all varsity squads. Capping off the break, three wrestlers earned top 20 rankings in the Southeast United States by SE wrestling: Bella Moore, Bailey Moore, and Madison Cooley.

Trojan Wrestling hits the road and finds success


The Carrollton High School wrestling program logged many miles over winter break. Their first stop was the Ft. Walton (FL) Beast of the Beach Tournament, where the Trojans went 4-0 in pool play. The team narrowly fell to Collierville, Florida in the semi-finals, finishing 6-2 overall. This past weekend, the Trojans traveled to Vestavia Hills where Jacob Levy finished first and took home the Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Earning individual accolades were Buck Merritt who finished second, Judah White in third, and Wesley Loftin and Riley Rayburn rounded out the weekend finishing fourth.

CMS football standout named MVP at Georgia Elite Classic


Trojan seventh-grade quarterback Trucker Jordan played in the Georgia Elite Classic in Rome, Georgia this past weekend and was named MVP of the seventh-grade game. Jordan completed 7 of 9 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. He will look to build on that momentum in the Born to Compete All-America game this Saturday at Milton High School. Also competing in the Georgia Elite Classic were junior CJ Kelly and sophomores Kimauri Farmer and Mateo Wells. Farmer led the sophomores with 78 yards on seven carries and one touchdown. Kelley recovered a fumble in the junior game for team Gold.
