Trojan football trounces Douglas County for region title


The Carrollton High School varsity football team cruised past the Tigers of Douglas County 55-22. The win secured the Trojans' fourth straight outright region championship. Rontre Welch’s 99-yard kickoff return with 1:48 left in the third quarter effectively sealed the game, giving Carrollton a 41-22 lead. Cam Wood led the offense with 149 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Peyton Zachary added 10 receptions for 135 yards and a score. Quarterbacks C.J. Cypher and Mason Holtzclaw combined for 186 passing yards; both threw touchdown passes. On defense, Kadan Spratling recorded two tackles for loss. The GHSA playoffs begin on Friday, Nov. 14, with the Trojans hosting North Forsyth.

Trojan boys and girls cross country earn fourth straight region title


The Carrollton High School boys and girls cross-country teams captured their fourth straight region title at the GHSA sectionals race on Nov. 1 at Allatoona Creek Park. Dash Brackin, Camp Jennings, Drew Woznicki, and Stephen Woznicki all finished in the top 15 to pace the Trojan boys. For the girls, all seven runners placed in the top 50, led by Blythe Browning, Lucy Slappey, and Marisol Colorado. The Trojans will compete on their home course in the GHSA State Championship on Nov. 8. The boys will race at 11:00 a.m., followed by the girls at 11:45 a.m.

Trojan cheer wins last regular-season meet


Trojan varsity cheer took first place at McIntosh High School on Nov. 3. The team scored 101.0, its second-highest mark of the season. The Trojans will travel to Buford High School on Nov. 8, as they look to capture their 14th straight region championship.

Trojan flag football opens area play with two wins


The Carrollton High School flag football team kicked off area play Wednesday, Oct. 29, with two shutout wins over Bowdon and Central, 13-0 and 7-0. The Trojans are now 6-5 on the season and have held opponents scoreless in all six victories. The team will be back in action at home Tuesday, Nov. 4, with games against Northgate and Newnan, before traveling Wednesday, Nov. 5, for two area matchups against Cedartown and Villa Rica.

Trojan Athletics to host inaugural Winter Sports Media Day


Carrollton High School and Trojan Athletics are excited to announce Winter Sports Media Day on Nov. 5. The event will be held in the CHS Hall of Fame Room beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fans are invited to come out and hear from all of the winter sports head coaches and select athletes as they gear up for the upcoming season. Those unable to attend in person can tune in on the Trojan Nation Network or watch live on the NFHS Network.
