YP Fall Concert Info for Students

3:30pm : Call Time

Call time means you are already signed in, your instrument is uncased, and you are starting to warm up!

Students will arrive already in concert dress (see below for more details) and will uncase in room 105. The YCS Concert may still be going on at this point- we ask that YP students stay in 105 until they are cleared to go on stage.

3:45 - 4:45 pm : Dress Rehearsal

Take a short break after dress rehearsal, then return to the stage to begin warming up.

5:00pm : Concert

We expect this concert to end between 5:30-5:45pm.

Concert Dress

Concert Dress is the “uniform” of the orchestra! This is what we ask for concert dress for Youth

Philharmonic.

• White button-up dress shirt (at least 3/4 length sleeves, full-length preferred)
• Off-white/ivory is acceptable if that is what you have/can find!
• Black pants or skirt (skirts must be knee length or longer)
• Black socks or opaque (not see-through/sheer) black tights
• Black DRESS* shoes

*Dress shoes are dress shoes. Please do not wear sneakers, tennis shoes, crocs, or

flip flops.

Please keep jewelry to a minimum and do not wear perfume. No bows, sequins, patterns, or

sheer materials.

No coats or ties, please!

YP Fall Concert - Attendee Info

Parking is available next to Strauss Performing Arts Center and overflow lots are located throughout campus. Please note that the YCS concert is immediately before YP dress rehearsal: parking may be full in the main Strauss lot. We encourage you to know where overflow lots are! View a map of where to park here

4:45pm : Doors open to Concert Hall

Attendees may enter the Concert Hall and choose their seats.

5:00pm : Concert

We expect this concert to end between 5:30-5:45pm.

Ticketing: Seating for concerts is open (you choose your seats when you enter the Concert Hall). This event, like many of the UNO School of Music concerts, will be Choose Your Own Ticket Price from $0 and up.

Next Semester's Calendar

Remember to check the season calendar and request absences for any dates you have conflicts!

Some important dates to keep in mind this spring:

January 11, 2026: Rehearsals resume!

January 18, February 1, and February 22 are sectional dates

February 15 : Music Mentors Rehearsal - a Side-by-Side rehearsal with the Omaha Symphony! 6:00 - 8:00pm (there will be no regular rehearsal this date, just Music Mentors!). We consider this in equal importance to a concert. The only permitted absences will be school performing arts events, already-scheduled out-of-town trips, or illnesses.
