I loved seeing so many of you at the Gratitude Celebration on May 21st. I quipped that it felt like a family reunion…with the family you actually like! We honored Karen Beltran with the Wendy R. Nadel Volunteer Legacy Award for her longtime service as a YPIE Board member who has provided internships to our students interested in a career in law.
We also recognized the contributions of our Volunteer of the Year awardees: Teresa Brasile (Saunders), Gary Friedman (College Zone), Nilesh Jain (CSEE), Joan Kantor (Lincoln), Colleen Kapklein (Gorton), Dave Kilgus (Riverside), Carolyn Reiss (YMHS), Lauren Ricci-Warren (YMA), Susan Schwartz (Obama), and Leesa Suzman (Roosevelt). 🎉 You can see photos in the Gratitude Celebration Flickr Album. It is once again time for our Annual Volunteer Survey. The survey allows us to collect critical data and feedback from our volunteers corps, including gauging interest in a variety of volunteer roles. In recent conversations with many of you, I shared that we were expanding our volunteer opportunities to include formal roles working with our college students, which are described in this survey. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by June 23rd and know how much I appreciate your input!
If you plan to volunteer as an Essay Coach this summer and have not yet completed the 2024 Summer/Fall Essay Coach survey to indicate your interest, please do so ASAP.
